Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. EDIT: oops, see this is a site specific problem, but all this is relatable.... stay on your toes.

always be on your guard! You wonder how people fall for this but they do.
not online:
the weirdest ones as of late, Wife is exec for Target. they get people(generally old ladies) who get a phone call their child is in jail, and the only way to release them, buy gift card from target, then give them the #'s. they've had quite a few.... and some people adamant its real even when presented with info that police officer doesnt exist....
another, same sort, someone calls store, acts like "corporate" and theyre testing gift card system. "need you to put through purchase for xxxx dollar gift card" this one happened to one of her employees. multiple times.... 3000 dollars before he raised a red flag. money spent and gone...

My Dad has had a few calls where a young caller says "Grandpa I'm in jail and need your help to get out" usually very softly or mumbled...so my Dad says "Is this Bradley?" (his nephew), and the call is "YES, this is Bradley...."
Dad almost fell for this once....now is wiser to it. But they are clever bastards when they go after the elderly!
Haaaaa I love the fact that I was born in Massachusetts, raised in Massachusetts and schooled in Massachusetts, when I moved to Florida in 1972 I walked in to my firs mechanics job and asked where do I paaak my caaa, everyone laughter and if you asked where the paaaty was , you were sent in the direction of the men's room.
In the south having a Yankee accent is something you tried to avoid and a Massachusetts accent is even worse especially in 1972 There is no R in Massachusetts but they taught us phonetics spell it like it sounds REALLY?? my girl friend is a southern girl and laughs at me even being here all those years I drop my r's occasionally and we sit there laughing and I teach her how to pronounce words like" you bastaad "and she gets a big kick out of it. Why not she is on her way to Hawaii left this morning with my oldest daughter on vacation and I get to stay home and do YAAAD work.

LOL. My wife's entire family is from Boston. My MIL who has lived in the Midwest forever - could not pronounce an R to save her life. I love that accent.
The guys at work laugh at me all the time with my accent. And my many New England sayings.
I say "wickid" a lot and call guys "fing weirdos" all the time
When I was selling my 232 last winter, I posted it on Boat Trader. It wasn't even a day before I got the "your boat is perfect ... I want to buy it for my son who is in the army over seas ... can't talk on the phone. Please let me know where I can send the certified check and arrange for pickup."
Yeah...rrrriiiiiigggghhhhttttt....
In the end, I went with a reputable boat broker who was able to sell it, do the transaction, water test, etc. all safely. Even when he took his 10%, I was got out of it what I would have selling on my own (without all the lost time).
