So this past weekend was my wife's first time on our "new to us" 242 Limited S. Since her birthday is just a couple weeks away, does anyone care to chime in on a great birthday gift for her?

Ladies, feel free to chime in. Guys, remember this is for her, not me. The boat is well farkled, but she may like something cool to make it her boat as well.

I have also considered lateral thrusters, as she was uncomfortable at the dock the first time. But that would be saying she has driving issues. HA! I know better than to do that.

Thanks in advance!

A pink yeti? Nice pair of sunglasses? Bathing suit? Are you trying to stick boat themed with it? Jewelry never fails. Get a picture frame and a picture from your first time on the boat? A calendar with pictures from each of her previous birthdays?

Someone posted a link to a 12v electric blanket that I plan to buy a few of, the first one being for Mother’s Day on behalf of my son. I wonder if he will thank me later.

Lateral thrusters....LOL. That sounds like the time I bought my wife a 50" tv, or some other item I really wanted. Don't do it! Buy her something special that she will like. I got my wife a nice pedicure and massage at a upscale spa and taking her out to a nice dinner tonight for our 10 year anniversary.

And I can testify from personal experience that a new vacuum or a new dishwasher are not gifts "for her".

Sunglasses (we collect them, and full disclosure, we have a problem) and yeti cup/large water cooler to put mixed drinks in. Works well for sangria.

The 242 wasn't enough? Wow..

I told my wife (and kids) that bimini is anniversary, birthday, mothers day Christmas, Columbus day and another "day" I can find. I thought about wrapping the kids passports for Christmas presents this year.

You really need to give us a budget here otherwise we'll be all over the place!
  1. Trip to bimini on the boat?
  2. Large Diamonds
  3. Caribbean vacation?
  4. A new house?
LOL--is she a geek? Reader? need input?
  1. Geek- home automation (like Amazon Echo etc)
  2. Reader - new Kindle reader?
  3. Flowers are never bad (just need more than just flowers)
  4. A weekend away somewhere

A softside Pink RTIC may be the ticket. She bought me an RTIC 20 hardside for our Wildcat and I love it.

In the boat, or truck, as soft may be a good idea. Although, I did just order the matching Mocha over black Seadek piece for our RTIC from Will.

A spa day may be in the works too. Thanks everyone!

Jewelry, Costco. Great return policy and you can buy online. Its not boat related but I've kept my wife pretty happy with a few diamonds.

Good point. What is she into? Glocks come in pink now.... ;)

are you a show off type or guy ? then pink whatever is great
do you want to improve her quality life ? Trip taps & steering fins.

Seriously our imagination is getting the worse of us. @Julian was right - we need a rough est budget to work off of here.

My wife's b-day's have spanned from simple just me-and-her days (like an all day date), to a shopping spree weekend in New Orleans. There is a HUGE spectrum here.
What are HER likes? What drives her crazy? (as in what would she LOVE to just get away from?)

Maybe if she has to work, surprise her, kidnap her from work and just let her have a headache free day. .... suggestions. Only suggestions.

I'm giving my wife an intercostal trip from Charleston to hilton head for mothers day! Take her out on the boat, buy a magna grill (beforehand) and cook her a nice meal on the boat.

What about a gold anchor ring ? I am planning on getting one so I can leave my wedding ring home on boating trips. I found on esty a jewelry maker that sells them.

Tell me more about this? I had not heard of folks doing this. She many times will leave her rings behind for the day. She has a very nice collection of Diamonds, and actually returned my last ring purchase, as she was getting cluttered.

We have really cut back on birthdays, as we both have everything we need. So keeping it under the $300 mark is common if anything at all actually. I like the getaway ideas, as it's more the experience out of the norm. We are actually hoping to go Lake Gypsy this Sunday as I have yet to get our new lift delivered and setup. So we have been hopping lakes in the boat.

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I think I will run with what you have mentioned. Of course, these are all great Mother's day ideas for those that have not done so as well. It's almost here, get to it!!

And if some reason you cannot get it by the time you take your trip get a ring box, add a picture, and write her a special note.
:winkingthumbsup"

For those who may work in a harsher environment there are these types of rings..
20180514_134816.jpg they are rubber and will break if they hook on something. If they break the company will replace it for free. I can get the name of the company if anyone wants it. I never wore my wedding ring at work for a nunber of reasons. My wife gave me this one for Christmas.
