13% increase in egg consumption? In a year????? WOW!

and I thought this was going to be a Supertramp post,

My breakfast consists daily of about 20 ounces of coffee! That's 'bout it!

I make myself a 3-egg omelette every morning (2 white, one whole egg, and skim milk). I buy Jimmy Dean's frozen turkey sausage links. I nuke one link for 20 seconds, dice it, and toss it in. If there are leftover potatoes (or tater tots) from a meal then a little bit of those go in too. Then I sprinkle VERY lightly with shredded cheddar (just enough to taste it.) Add a piece of whole wheat toast with a little skim of peanut butter and jelly (lots of calories in that dang peanut butter) and I'm ready to rock.

I used to drink O.J. with breakfast but I've been having some acid reflux lately so I cut that out. Now I just have water.

This all goes down at about 5:00 a.m.

Calorie-wise it really isn't too bad - especially now that I cut out the O.J. - and it holds me until my 9:00 banana. (Oooooohhh! Banana!!)

When I hear that commercial, "America runs on Dunkin" I think - ummm no it doesn't - America runs on coffee!

Oh, yeah.... forgot the coffee. I USED to be a huge coffee drinker. More of that acid reflux thing. Quitting was fun I assure you. 2 months of walking around like all my "controls" had too much backlash in them.

I'll still have a cup now and again but if I do it two days in a row I start becoming re-hooked.

That's what I thought when I clicked on the link...Damn....gotta go dig out the 8 track now...

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day ~ Dexter

Man I miss that show!

Personally I like fried bread, baked beans and black pudding for breakfast ;)

Coffee was killing me as well. So I switched to hot tea. Best thing I ever did! Either earl grey or English breakfast. Usually 2 cups with a little honey and splash of milk. My digestive system is much happier!!

One small bowl of Raisin Bran with skim milk....that is it. Lunch is One lean pocket, an apple, a light Yoplait yogurt. Lost 18 pounds in the last 3 months. Target is a weight I haven't weighed since highschool (178).....I'm at 182! High was 216!

Nice. I've managed to drop 15 lbs since Christmas time. Not doing anything too crazy just watching the calories and getting more exercise. I don't stick with drastic changes well but I've managed to shift my own thinking slowly - and it's working.

My Wife found out she had high triglycerides (after YEARS of me nagging her to get a physical I might add). She made a major change to her diet - had to go low carb - and got back into exercising. She's lost almost 30 lbs in a couple of months.

I have say, it's a lot more fun when you're both in better shape! ;)

Yup, its a simple equation of calories in vs calories burned....had a great speaker at our conference this week, Dr. David Nash......one of his slides....

FACT: A mere 3% of Americans do all of the relatively “simple” things they should to stay healthy – i.e., exercise for 20 minutes 3 times a week, don’t smoke, eat fruits and vegetables regularly, wear seat belts regularly, and remain at their appropriate BMI.

I'm not there yet....

If you spend time in a foreign country that sees a very diverse population, you'll see the weirdest things at breakfast.

I just got back from Bahrain, they have a lot of American, British, of course middle eastern....much more....the breakfast buffet has everything from cooked to order eggs to baked beans, cold cuts and cheese trays with smoked salmon, capers, foul madammes (good lord it smells horrible), just about anything you could think of. We would have bets to see who would eat certain things.
