Cavitation/Engine Question

I was out the other week and when running wide open I noticed that one of the engines would rev higher and bound a few hundred rpms and then run normal. It only did is a few times but was wondering what to look into.
It did not have any issues during takeoff or anywhere in the RPM range. Only did it one side WOT.

Suggestions?

If it was me, I wouldn't worry about it,

was the water rough? did they increase as you were going over waves?

it could be spark plugs
or you could look up from underneath the boat at your impellers to see if you notice anything major or loose silicone but those issues are so slight you probably won't have any visual indicators,

Agree with Scott....I'd run it a few more times and see if the problem recurs, then investigate if it does.

Takes 30 seconds to shine a flashlight into the pumps and look to see if there is anything worth going over or asking about. And if u shine it in reverse you can see how tight the impellers are to the pump liners.

Thank guys for the replies! I did look when got it back on the lift. All that looked good. It was not really rough.

I hate to admit I don't go wide open very often during the season as just get's too rough with family and I sure don't want to hear them complain! lol.

Your pumps are getting lazy from lack of exercise go fast more LOL!
