I've read a LOT of posts on this clean out repair kit and I'm still confused as to whether or not this particular kit will fit for my 2010 242 Limited. I see that 2012 and newer models show the plug comes in 2 parts (the upper handle with dogs and the lower rubber seal unit). For mine, it shows the clean out plug as one uint.
When I asked Partzilla about their Fitment listing, and asked if my 2010 would be OK with this kit. They replied that I would have to buy the "complete" clean out unit as Yamaha doesn't offer this kit for models older than 2012??? I see many JB's with models older than 2012 commenting on this repair being great.
Can anybody confirm they used this kit without any problesm on the older models. I would like to buy 2 kits but fear of finding issues. Plus I will drop Partzilla offf my list of suppliers of this.

F0R-67609-09-00 Is what I used on my 2000. Should be fine for yours as well. (And all second generation plugs)

Thanks guys for the feedback but you have newer boats (except for MfM). The newer boats (at least 2012 up) show the repair kit as a breakdown part for the assembly (not so for the 2010). This maybe a modification to the parts breakdown by Yamaha due to the issues on maintaining a good seal and ease of install/removal as the complete unit is about 8x the price of the kit.
My whole point on this thread was to seek confirmation on successful installs on older than 2012 (such as mine 2010). So thanks MfM on your success on your 2000 fix.
I just guess it bothered me that Partzilla said I had to buy the assembly (as the parts breakdown for the Jet Unit4 showed) and didn't offer to sell them to me?? This made me feel that they may not fit?

These fit the current generation plugs also? Mine do not seal anymore.
They should fit boats from 2000-2016. I think in 2017 the design changed and I’m not sure these rebuild kits would work. (I don think so)

My understanding of the different iterations:
(Correct me if I’m wrong)

1999 and older was the original “screw in” plug
2000-2016 second gen “t handle” style
2017- new “twist on” design

Many people don’t realize there have been three versions so it can be confusing when discussing the different types.

Yup....same part number listed for the new plugs too....you can see that here:
Parker Yamaha shows a different part number for the kit for 2017 and newer...maybe the plug part is the same but the screws/accessories are different?

yes all 2000 through 2016 have the blow out plugs the kit only provides the bottom piece and the plug seal. so be very careful not to loose any of the internal parts here is a video I did years ago showing why the plugs can blow out unexpectedly.
