Picked up some Cod from Costco last week. Noticed something wiggling and yep found a worm moving around. Worms in oily fish are not uncommon and safe if you cook the fish (reason why there is no cod sushi), but my wife saw it and said heck no to eating the fish. What would you do?

hum... more for you?

They did an article on the news regarding that. I'd say no way José

I'd either have my wife return or exchange it or I'd toss it. Knowing they could be there is one thing, seeing it there (alive) is another. It's like hot dogs and sausage for me, I will eat them but don't necessarily want to know what's in them.

Exactly. Not unless I'm on a Food Network show and being paid for the experience...

No way..Fn gross.

I hear they get very crunchy if you cook them just right!
:winkingthumbsup"

I wouldn't eat it..... Having said that, if they are as common as it sounds I have probably had a few over the years. I'm sure restaurants don't look too closely when cooking cod fish sandwiches.

If you've eaten cod you've probably eaten a few cod worms. I believe pacific cod is worse than Atlantic cod. (Water is colder in the Atlantic) I was told that most bottom feeder fish have worms. Bon appetite.

I will never look at fish sticks the same again!! Damn it!!!

Tuna has the same issue.

So does pork. To this day one of my best friends want's all his pork, mostly pork chops, "burned" so he knows they are cooked. If it's fried I think it's safe to eat (although least healthy nutritionally), not even cockroaches can survive those kind of temperatures.

That will keep me out of Costco for a while.

Worms for $6.99 lb???? Hell no!!....lol

This is why we COOK meat. And this is why I don't eat SUSHI

I was in Costco earlier this evening, I didn't even walk down the fish isle. Just the thought of worm in the pic, ewww.
