E-Series Ignition/Battery/Key Question?

I agree....think it is the fuel pumps. Definitely not the bilge pump.

On a non e series I can confirm no noises with the key on except for the auto bilge pump.

I just emailed with my Yamaha service guy about this today. This might be elementary to many, but it wasn't to me! He suggests turning the key off and then turning on the radio. I believe the noise your hearing is the bilge cycling as it remains on as long as house battery is in the on position. The bilge was a worry I had when docking overnight. Bilge will work if you leave the house battery on and starter battery off with the key removed.

The e series has some type of hum with the key on and both batteries on . I thought it was the fuel pumps . If the house battery is on and start battery is off the bilge will turn on to sense for water it also sends some power to the led tower and dock light just a faint flash . When it's in my driveway at night I have noticed and realized the battery needs to be turned off .
