Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
I know that can happen in E-series, but I believe the non-E can run without a battery as logn as they start. I think. (that's one of the reasons why I bought one... I know the non-E engines can start and run without connext).
I would guess it may have been an overheat alarm? real or not?
the only time I experienced limp mode in both AR240 and SX190 (one each) was overheat. I ran in high idle to cool off and it went away.
Yes it was both engines. It was like it was in a saftey mode. I docked it at a boat ip restaurant, everything was fine, then started it back up and everything sounded normal. Pushed off and had no power. Full throttle was 2k rpm at 3mph
It's threads like these that keep me from upgrading....
I was wondering if maybe you hit a patch of something and both impellers were fouled....Then realized it was likely a CPU error as I read on. Hope you got it sorted out.
I've had that before on our 2015 242LS, once was excessive jelly fish stuck in the impellers. (Yeah I wasn't going to even try to clean that out)
Second time was right in the middle of a very busy ICW. I grabbed anchor, turned everything off, drank a beer, and she worked just fine afterwards.
Was there any excessive sea weed or any other debris at the marina? Have you checked your clean out plugs to make sure everything is clear and they're not dislodged for any reason.
I wonder if they have some sort of water flow/pressure sensor in the newer models, or is this just from temp increase that quickly from clogged pumps? I could see sitting in a river at a dock and picking up a bunch of debris if it was floating downstream......

This happens every single time I dock on the Ohio. Have to clean out the jets, and once has to jump in, reach in, and clean off the strainer (had what looked like a gum wrapper sucked onto it).
