Did a quick search but didn't find a way to plot home base on the user map, can someone fill me in? Thanks

You will need to go into your profile and add your city and state. Once you do that the map automatically update with your location.

Good luck!

Once on the map, the more you zoom in the closer it will be to your actual location.

Your welcome!

[USERGROUP=3]@Administrative[/USERGROUP] team - the user map only has 1223 users listed. Maybe you can do one of those hot remarks thingies (highly technical term, I know) to get the new members to input locations.

maybe the pop up notification that we do for group buys/important info that you can x out of and not have to see again,

Thats what I was getting at with my "Hot Remarks" reference. . . . . Thanks for painting a clearer picture.

And if you want a better plot of your location add your zipcode.

I'm travelling on business today and picking my boat up tomorrow. ...so it should be a couple of months before I get to this!!! Lol. But yes, we can put up a notice for this. I've suggested making it mandatory (if you don't want to disclose your location just put in a fake one)

I highly suggest you do not make it mandatory.
And a bunch of fake locations isn't helpful to anyone.

Agreed. . . . I was just figuring folks haven't seen/didn't know of the feature. A gentle nudge via homepage reminder should do the trick.

p.s. We also may need to order some more JB.Net footballs to continue to get the word out. . . . . . I saw at least 3 new Yammies on my lake already this season.

Regarding making it mandatory, my thought was to do what many forums do and say, if you don't want to disclose your location enter "North Pole". But not a big deal...
So what happens if i am near the north pole and get stuck and look to the map for users that can help?

Hope you brought sled dogs and a warm coat.

My survival kit rivals most i think but no sled dogs.... they didn't fit in the bin. You wouldn't boat out to me?

Bet your ass I would spearhead the expedition

Hmmm, that could be a new destination to replace the Bimini trip. May have to use the sub move to reach it though. With regard to map location...Many people are hesitant to put too much info out there. It may be a good idea to mention this only gives general location rather than specific and is used for members to find local members for the purpose of socializing and possible repair assistance.

I was unsure about adding my location until I started participating on this board and realized how great of a community this is. Now I not only have my location posted, but have invited "internet strangers" to my house like @bobbie. :)
