Seems like $10k is the threshold.

Maybe $3K at the most. Keel Guard, dual batt chargers, Thrust Vectors, VeeVee guides. Putting in Lowarnce 4 sonar and GPS this summer as well as a 2nd bilge pump. Added an amp and sub woofer.

I think most of my first mods were for the trailer ;) But Perfect Pass was by far the most expensive and the best mod thus far. ;)

Don't forget to count the pulling vehicle if you needed one, the new garage you built to store your boat and anything you bought your wife to get her to say yes to the other mods.

Oh I wish that was including non-direct boat expenses... Mine are all actual mods on the boat itself lol, not even boards or anything else lol... Mind you the stereo was a large chunk.

Ok, I'd have to add about 26K for the new heated out building for the boat. Hoping for a boat house at some point if I can get the pain in the butt people who control my lake to give me a permit to build one. Unfortunately the tree huger syndrome mentality controls our lake.

Ya know...it seems that I was thinking this year I don't have any boat Mods to do. But alas, it's scupper time and I'm also thinking about some sound insulation.

Last Years' PerfectPass was a pricy one, but worth every penny. Then there was that little upgrade to Optima Batteries...

Yep, it does add up quick...

If tow vehicles count, we have to change the grading scale!

I don't even want to think about it. I Don't dare add everything up in front of my financial advisor/ budget analyst - the wife!

Ballast, tried both types of fins, seadek, mirror, tower racks (tried 3 different sets, probably replace everything with skylon this year), over the tower boat cover/tent, ribbon swap, tower anchor light, keelguard, various types of pads for the trailer, all sorts of anchoring stuff (4 high end anchors, 4 different anchor retrieval tools, shore spikes, etc), replace the trailer brakes with electric... PerfectPass, ... I'm sure there is more.

If you include all the boards/tubes/ropes/etc... I'm way past 10K in boat stuff/mods. Without that, I'm probably right around 10K.

Just my 2 cents, which may be worth less...if you spent $10K or more on mods you probably bought the wrong boat.

10K might be a bit high for this poll....might have been more interesting to put in some ranges for folks to vote on. I need to look at my signature to figure out how much I' ve spent!

$2000 PerfectPass
$300 Cobra Fins
$200 Dual Batt. w/ACR
$60 Boat Buckles
$500 Garmin 541s GPS w/RAM mount,
$500 Clarion M502 Headunit with Remotes,
$3000 Camper/Cockpit/Bow Covers,
$300 Bilge & Fume Alarms,
$100 Guide Posts,
$150 BlueSea 4gang Switch,
$50 Fender locks,
$300 6.5" Polk DB Speakers in bow and cabin & 6x9's in Cabin and Fusion 4" on stern,
$25 Cabin LEDs,
$100 dual bank charger with through hull,
$150 Garlick adjustable height seat pedestal,
$75 Spare tire and new jack,
$3100 Airdock
$350 SeaDek Titanium swim deck,
$75 Stainless Scupper.
$300 Grill
$11,635 TOTAL over 9 years of ownership....had to go from memory on many of them (so don't nitpick...I'm sure I'm off on some of them!)

$3900 of these items will likely move to the next boat (GPS, Grill and Airdock).

And this doesn't include the tubes (4), skis (2), wake board, surf board, ski trainer, ropes, life jackets, fenders, flags, name sticker etc!!!!

But all worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the trend continues...

$100 Storage Mods
$150 Battery Charger
$200 Engine Block Heater
$1,250 Perfect Pass
$750 Sea Deck
$6,350 Stereo Modifications
$150 CIPA Mirror
$700 Mooring Cover Upgrade
$400 Thrust Vectors
$400 Lateral Thrusters
$450 Ballast Bags and Pumps
$1,150 Wake Wedge & Transom Ballast Bag

$12,050 in modifications over 7 years and I still want to upgrade to the latest fusion head unit and add a sound bar. So still have another $1,000 to go, I think I have a problem....

7.5k in mods from previous owner
9k in mods from me
13k in remodeling house to store the boat in my garage

Yes my boat has sucked more $$$ than what it actually it is worth, but as @Julian said it is all worth it.

PS @Shuck Water the ski rocks 70+ hours on it.

Hate seeing the total but glad I made everyone of them. These mods/additions help us enjoy life. Life is hard enough and we all need something that makes us feel good to be alive. Don't forget to live!!!

Not even close, it's only a 190 so no matter how much I spent it's still a 190. Between trailer and boat about 2k

I’m not going to add it up, no need to start the day depressed, not all the mods are worth what they cost and some cost a lot more than others.

You know what they say; the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.

Besides, you got to spend it on something (besides your wife) :p
