I installed cup holders on the swim deck this evening. First I set the cup holder upside down on the swim deck where I wanted to install it. Then I used a long drill bit through the cup holders drain opening to mark where I wanted to drill.
I used a $13 MK Morse AV60 Hole Saw, 3-3/4-Inch Bi-Metal Boxed to drill the holes
I already had a mandrel to use with the hole saw. I frequently stopped drilling to vacuum up the dust. This would be a better job for two people with masks.
I added drain lines from the cup holders. Details are at Plumbing drain for Yamaha swim deck cup holders
I do not plan to caulk the plugs into place, I don't want to risk getting caulk on the Hydro Teak so I plan to wrap them in duct tape until they fit securely in the cutout.
This also gave me access to caulk the inside of the actuator mounts for my Trim Tabs.
Here are some pictures after the installation. You can see that the hull is quite thick in this area.
