JetBoatPilot's New Surf Tech, Thrust Vector Wake

Video of surf wake coming this week if the planets align and the doc lets our surfer get out there, plus the weather cooperate!

This is not the Rooster Tail product. That product is coming but all our focus is on the Thrust Vector Wake until it goes live then we'll shift our focus to the Rooster Tail and others.

We are testing the first metal fins next week. We have always liked starboard for several reasons but we need rigidity for this project and starboard just does not provide enough, especially up near the pivot point where the stops are located.

It is looking like 6061 aluminum is the front runner at the moment and when in production we'll be hard coat anodizing so they'll be better suited for salt water use and will be absolutely gorgeous installed on the boat.

This project is really shaping up now and I'm really excited where its headed!

Why the choice of 6061 over 5052 alloy? The 6061 is a harder temper to be sure but 5052 is a mariner grade alum and readily available. It’s also easy to anodize and a little less cost for the raw materials. We use it all the time in various applications. I’m sure you have your reasons but call me curious.

I could be persuaded to look at 5052 especially if it has some advantages for salt water environments and if there is a reason why we'd need a softer metal. At this point rigidity has been key because of the need to keep the stops at a constant location.

Any chance you have a wake booster to see it combined with and without your new unit?

Its almost the end of the week!!!!

Sorry did not happen this week, got busy with a boat show and parts did not show up thos week. Hope for next week.

Hey guys and gals, we just uploaded a great Single Engine Thrust Vector Wake video. We're waiting on some parts for the twin so we can't film it at the moment but the single is basically done and we're going to be ordering production parts this week!

Here's the newest video. More coming later this week.

Time frame from ordering production parts to shipping?

Wow that makes a pretty big difference. Any issues at higher speeds?

None that we've seen. Its much cleaner all the way to 48 mph which is our boat's max speed.

The ship date will likely be late May on the singles as well.

What is the final production material?

Looking like 6061 Aluminum at the moment hard coat anodized. They're going to look really slick!

Can I get a red one yet? :p

My 2 cents regarding the latest video.... Would be better if the camera was mounted to the boat with the same perspective for the side by side videos. There seems to be a difference but it's hard to tell because the FOV and positioning differs in the side by side comparison.

Also, is the reverse gate adjusted properly on the stock boat? It looks like it's touching the top of the water stream exiting the nozzle?
