Hey folks...coming to you from North Florida. After recently moving here from Lake Norman in the Charlotte NC area, I just picked up a 2013 242 Limited S. Super low hours and a good deal.
Here in Fernandina Beach, we run the St. John’s River (ICW). All my neighbors who have center consoles with outboards we’re trying to talk me out of a jetboat. I bucked the system based on the tons of research I’ve done and because frankly, I’m not really a fisherman. Also my kids and wife wanted a sport boat that’s comfortable with plenty of seating.
We had an i/o Regal on the lake and wanted a similar experience but on a platform that could adapt to changing shallow depths and tides here. I know the salt water will present challenges with additional care and maintenance, but I’m up for the task.
Thrilled to be apart of the jetboat crew! I only have a couple of pics, as I just got her home last night. I spent all day today cleaning and was going to put her in, but I stupidly left the hose attachment for engines flush at the out of state dealer. I’ll go buy one tomorrow and try again.

glad to have you on board!

Salt water use is nary a problem with meticulous maintenance.

Good looking boat, did you get it from Winchester, TN? I was eyeing that same boat if so! Congrats!!!

Almost everyone in Florida has a CC and pick up truck. Soon as my dad bought his PBC condo he bought a pick up truck and a CC like its a rite of passage. Good for you for being different!

Congrats and welcome to the forum :Welcome: !!! Like you've hinted, there's lots of good info here with very knowledgeable people to help keep you safe, broke :winkingthumbsup" and on the water.

Good luck...
