As the title states I need some help with someone explaining to me (in a very dumbed down version as I'm not super boat savvy yet) how to install these 2 poles to keep the water out of the cover when it rains. Looks like 2 different color poles and sizes and straps for them. Would be very much appreciated. Thanks for the help in advance!

White straps go on the front cleats.
Short pole in front
long pole in back
black straps to the stern.
Put cover on boat and cinch down with ratchet strap.

Once poles are standing and attached to straps then start the cover on from the front process and the poles won't fall down with all that shuffling around with putting the cover on?

Thanks for the reply!

How easy are the straps to attach?

The straps hooks on the cleats either just around the cleat or through the cleat and then around the cleat either way will work.

Does the pole itself attach to cover under the cover?

No they are held in place by the straps and then just stand the poles up. The cover is supported by the poles and the tight strap. If you are trailering with cover then slit a noodle over the windshield. It will help the cover not wear.

Pull the pole straps taught before putting the cover on. When putting the cover on start at the bow and work to the stern. When removing the cover roll it up from the stern to the bow. Do not lose track of the bow of the cover as that will make putting it back on easier.

Not our boats but this video helped me:

This is the manufacturer of the 2013 cover I bought.

I've found that using these anti-pooling poles by strapping them to the cleats and then having to constantly duck under and work around them when putting the cover on is extremely annoying. I'm going to have my local marine upholstery shop add a couple vents to the cover that universal poles will slide into. That will make things much easier and eliminate the need to use the straps/cleats.
