I've been watching and learning for a couple of months now. I've been on and around boats since 1964, but this is my first jet boat. We love it and enjoyed our first summer on it. We boat on Lake Jackson in Florala Alabama. We've tentatively planned a vacation on Lake Eufala for next summer. So looking forward to it.

You all are great and filled with a wealth of information and I thank you for all of the help you have provided me unknowingly over the past several months.

I bought the Yamaha AR210 and am very happy with it. I look forward to several years with you and my new ride.

Welcome Aboard @After You!

I've been to Lake Jackson for 'things other than boating. It's in the north end of my county. Looks fun for boating for sure. But when you're ready, you could hit Panama City or Destin and open up a whole nother world for you. The drive would be close to the same, but the options are endless and the sealife is awesome.

Good luck and enjoy!

Hey @Wayloncle I just saw a downed F-16 out of Tyndall AFB over there hitting the headlines. Downed over the Gulf and the pilot is unaccounted for. You got any further info?

That's all I know, and all they are letting out if they know more:-/
Hope they find him hanging out in his raft soon.

Howdy and welcome aboard @After You . The guys summed it up pretty good, your among friends here, as well as a growing knowledge base for everyone. Once again, welcome aboard!

@jawsf16 ... forgive my ignorance, but where does the phrase "Throw a nickel on the grass..." come from??

@Jim Robeson

Within the U.S. Air Force fighter pilot community, the term “throw a nickel on the grass” embodies an expression of mutual respect and good luck from one warrior to another. It is also a Vietnam-Era fighter pilot song. The term was later used in an unknown author’s closing words in "Tribute to the Fighter Pilot" …

“So here’s a nickel on the grass to you, my friend, and your spirit, enthusiasm, sacrifice and courage - but most of all to your friendship. Your’s is a dying breed and when you are gone, the world will be a lesser place.”

When a fighter pilot flies West for the final time, it is customary to throw a nickel on the grass... This photo is a recent example at General Robin Olds funeral. One might think it is disrespectful, Weed and Jack and shot "glasses" on the headstone. Quite the opposite, this is a sign of respect. Robin Olds was a remarkable man that I had the privilege of spending three days with while I was stationed at Kunsan. Do a Google search if you want to know how a real hero lives...

@jawsf16 ... thanks for the explanation! I will definitely google General Olds.
