Hello I'm Dean from Fort Myers Fl, just picked up a couple jet skis and have a couple ?'s
I'm sure there are some diy for upgrades to my Yamaha svho fzs and our vx cruiser ho 1.0 can't wait to find some things out about the svho.

I do have a couple ?'s tho my svho has a weird noise since day 1 and I'm getting ready to take it in for the 10 hr check up. they want 300 for oil filter and spark plugs and a visual inspection. They said they would adjust the valves also. Does anyone know what plugs they take so I can buy them myself and save a couple bucks.

This is the noise it is making any thoughts? It sounds like a bearing going bad

Welcome aboard. $ 300.00 seems about what most dealers charge for a 10 hour service with a valve adjustment, SVHO's according to a parts fiche I just looked up, takes a NGK LFR7A (92038) spark plug which are 5 to 6 bucks each.

Is that noise coming from the engine or is it coming from the impeller in the jet pump which will make a rattling noise?

thank you very much on the info and the noise is coming from the front of the motor where I have the camera pointing. they were talking 20 to 30 dollars a plug and I was like wow

is the shvo and the fzs the same or do they have a shvo non fzs

I looked up a 2016 FZS not being sure what year you owned. Edit, just looked at your signature, a 2015 FZS takes the same spark plugs.

My dealer wanted $500 to do the 10 hour service on my boat (2 engines). It dropped to $125 when I told them I'd changed the oil already.....thats some expensive oil! :-) So consider changing your own oil...or call them and ask them the price minus the oil change.

thanks again Dan I used the link to look up the 2015 to make sure. I have some mechanical back ground and I use that term lightly. do I need a special tool to change the oil myself and does it take special oil. Also do I have to use a Yamaha filter. I'm thinking it might be a pia to take put the drain plug lol

anyone else have an opinion on the noise coming from the motor :(

I am not familiar with your engine, but you probably have to suck the oil out with an oil extractor like the rest of our Yamaha engines in these boats. Normally you run the ski on the hose for 10-15 minutes to warm up the oil, insert the tube in the oil tank, pump out as much as you can, then measure exactly what you take out, change oil filter, then refill exactly what you took out plus a little extra to account for the oil filter. It's not too hard and will save you some money.

Edit: Yes, use Yamaha Oil & Filter
