Think I'm going to switch to this mooring spot. It's a longer walk and less protected, but I got some huge ball-style fenders (one pictured, two more on the way) and there are wheelbarrows to bring stuff down there. It's a lot easier to get in and out of.

Think I'm going to switch to this mooring spot. It's a longer walk and less protected, but I got some huge ball-style fenders (one pictured, two more on the way) and there are wheelbarrows to bring stuff down there. It's a lot easier to get in and out of.

What did you cover those cushions with??

We picked up a nice comfortable piece of material at Joann Fabrics that has a little stretch to it - I think it was a 90/10 Poly/Cotton blend. My wife sewed them up like bottom sheets, so they wrap right over the cushions after they're snapped down and the elastic holds them pretty well. Comfortable, but really there for Cooper. He generally swims while we're prepping the boat, so these absorb some of that and maybe keep him from scratching the cushions.

Some good pics from the day and a bad. First outing of 2024, our fourth season with the boat. Beautiful weather in Buffalo, NY today. Lake Erie was fairly calm as well. Great day overall. At least 3 or 4 other Yamahas on the water with us today...and a Switch.

The bad...Pulled over briefly when leaving Buffalo Harbor State Park. Was a touch too close to the curb and must have caught a seam, tore a layer of the tire. Ugh! Didn't realize it at the time and luckily made it home without issue. Well the tires are four years old and I was wondering how long they might last...and if I should pull the trigger on a switch to radials. Time to revisit the posts on that topic.

Second outing of the year but the first with my "big" purchase for the year. Bote Hangout 10 is pretty awesome as floats go, allows to be in the water some but still sitting in relative comfort. All packed up, fits in the ski locker of my 242 Limited S.

Baltimore Key bridge in a distance







Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas in Baltimore port. Apparently, this is the first cruise ship that arrived to port since Key Bridge collapse. Arrived today on 5/24 and scheduled to sail on 5/25.

We went out to our local lake and it wasn't too busy thanks to crowd control. Only slip and storage owners could launch at the marina.
