My neighbor got Playstation 4 with VR for Christmas and it is pretty amazing, so I decided that I would use my Bestbuy gift cards to get it also!

Anyone else got one and have games they love?

I tried to find one of ps4 ones for the last three months leading up to Christmas and was unsuccessful in securing one. I'm thinking I'm going to try the Oculus Ryft one.

I'm anxious to try it, but I'm kind of holding off. Sony has a habit of promising big things with their technology and then having software makers fail to deliver / utilize the tech.

So far it sounds like a lot of novelty pre-recorded scenes and some simple, short missions for mainstream games like Battlefront.

Once I'm convinced Playstation VR is really taking off I'll be in. I don't want to spend that kind of cash for a novelty that spends most of its time with the cord wrapped around it tucked in my end-table.

Now if and when Bungie embraces the PS VR for Destiny, I'll be chomping at the bit to press the "Purchase" button.

If @Julian can forgive me for dual-purposing this thread: What are you guys playing? Or is it just for the kids?

I don't have a lot of time for it, but I enjoy Destiny, Battlefront, Fallout 4, Doom, and a few others. I used to play COD a lot (started with COD "Big Red One" on the PS2 and own every one up to Black Ops III) but the franchise has kind of worn thin on me as of late. I never have enough time to spend to get "good" at these games, but I play them anyway.

We got the PS4 platform for the kids (and me) last Christmas with the Disney Infiniti Star Wars platform. Our 9y.o. son really wants some VR stuff, but I really want to wait and see what is gonna come of it. It's either gonna get way better or go away. I may try and wait till the second generation comes out to give it a go.

@biglar155 I'm a racer at heart with Need for Speed and Driveclub. I also love playing GTA 5 and I just got Fallout 4 for Christmas. I haven't had much time to do much playing lately though. Fallout 4 looks to be a very detailed game from what time I've been able to put towards it. What's your take on it? Are you into it very much?

For me it was for the kid. I probably play 1-2 hours of video games a year and that is only when I get a nostalgia itch I usually turn on the old school Nintendo or Super Nintendo and play Tecmo Super Bowl my favorite game from my youth.

Gaming comes and goes with me. I'll hit a spurt of a few weeks where I spend an hour a day playing (that's a LOT for me). Then I'll hit a stretch of no gaming for weeks.

I enjoy Fallout 4. There's a ton of stuff to do. It's a Bethesda Studios game. This means that it's so pretty and well executed that you can forgive the occasional weird glitch (save relatively frequently just in case).

My problem - like that of most - is that there are so many side-quests that you get completely distracted from the main quest. Plus, it's open world so you tend to find yourself walking around just checking out cool stuff. Eventually you get to the point where you've got decent weapons and enough cash to keep yourself well supplied in ammunition. Once you get there, the game gets a little easier (not simple) to work your way through.

I tend to have a limited attention span with video games. I'll play one game for a while and then cycle through to the next after a few nights of playing. The one that really keeps me coming back is Destiny. It has a great leveling / loot mechanic that just makes you want to go on random patrols and kill bad guys with random strangers just to make your character stronger. Bungie does a nice job of keeping it fresh by doing nifty little things in the social areas. For example, every year around the holidays they have SRL - Sparrow Racing League. So for a short time you have an opportunity to do some racing in an otherwise first-person shooter game.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not great at video games. (I'd blame my 45 year old reflexes, but what was my excuse when I was 18? :)) That doesn't matter. I've always enjoyed them anyway.

I've been gaming since the Atari 2600. I figure there's no point in stopping now.

The Sony VR games I've played so far are quite varied. I've only played it three times....but the following were a blast!

Until Dawn Rush of Blook - you are on a rollercoaster shooting at things.....the VR really gives you the feeling of motion! Its pretty uncanny.

London Heist - this was lots of fun too! One scene where you are in a car and being attacked by guys in other cars and motor cycles and you have a machine gun and are shooting back at them....lots of fun!

Battle zone was fun...but a very short demo, so not sure how the full game will be.

There was another Zombie game I played at the neighbors that had me sweating it was so immersive! Zombies coming at you from all directions and you have a gun in each hand and have to keep plugging them....you hear them coming from all directions! You totally feel like you are there!

So if anyone in the area wants to try it....stop by! I got lucky today when my buddy called me to tell me Walmart had ONE in stock. When I got there the woman was like...."I just stocked this an hour ago, and we haven't had one in for a while"

In the past I've played Battlefield and COD....hope this VR isn't just a fad as it is amazingly immersive.

The PS version for me sounded like a great way to start but after not being able to find one around Christmas I think I really decide the oculus or the vive would be the way I would go based on the graphics. I love this video especially the girl curled in the fetal position crying near the end lol.

My neighbors wife totally freaks out when she's playing the zombie game they have (will have to get the name of it)....she can't play it very long or she'd die of a heart attack!

@Julian I think it's called The Brookhaven Experiment

That is the one! Zombies come at you from all directions and you have to turn around (or you can use a flip direction view button) to shoot them before they get to you!
