It's not safe to ride back there. That's where exhaust carbon monoxide stays.It may be safe but We never ride back there! Period!
Yep. You can smell exhaust clear as day anytime you're back there when the motor is on. Considering that CO is present even when you can't smell the fumes is a clear reason for why you should never be back there while underway. Only time anyone is back there on our boat while running is just for a few seconds if retrieving a fender or getting ready to toss a line while approaching dock.I was out fishing the other day and noticed a lot of fumes on the swim deck going slow and the wind was blowing.
