It was one of those weather days yesterday, when in the morning it was back and forth between downpours and humid sunshine. I decided outdoor work in the blueberry field was a washout. SO, I called it a day and went to apply the first coat of satin polyurethane over 3 coats of epoxy on the dock steps. I added Epifanes Brushthinner to the mix for this project and boy did it make a difference. Much silkier than hardware store thinner. I am hooked on this stuff now.

A few pictures of what I saw.

He is not going to see this but, I would like to give a shout out to Mike at Specialty Marine Solutions in E. Falmouth Mass. I placed an order last Thursday for Epifanes satin polyurethane. Did not expect it until the next week. It came the next day, Friday. But it was the wrong product, it was gloss instead. It was their mistake and they owned up to it. They immediatly shipped out the correct product and sent a UPS shipping label for a pickup. Well the UPS guy delivered the new order to a different location on the property and missed the pickup. E-mailed Mike to let him know, he said no problem I will send a pickup request. A few hours later I decided to use the gloss for the O'Day sailboat tiller/rudder britework. I asked what the charge would be to purchase the gloss and he said how about $30, sold. Half price of the $61 product with no shipping charges. I scored and made lemonade from lemons. Epifanes Polyurethane Clear Gloss, PUCG.750 This guy will get my business in the future. This is what West Marine charges for the same product.

Oh and the day cleared out later with the help of 15-20 kt. winds.

Decided to buy a portable basketball hoop for my son and I last night and found all stores sold out, they are even hard to find used on Craigslist, online orders are subject to delivery dates in May. Got this one for free from a neighbor I didn’t meet until this morning as I walked my dog by her house. She wouldn’t take any money for it, just glad to be rid of it I guess. The backboard is smaller than we prefer but it’s still considered Corona virus treasure to my son and I.

Impossible to find used weights as well, as everyone started home gyms with closures.

Not a very good pic but I saw this today while getting ready to put our boat in water. First one I’ve seen in person. Gotta admit it wasView attachment 122577
Those folks have a little money to throw around or a lot of debt. Their tow pig is a new Lincoln Navigator. Very nice setup indeed!

One of the new bearing buddies detached from the hub as I got on the freeway yesterday, the other came off somewhere along the way to the boat ramp. I just put these one a few days ago. Now there is a crack in one of the hubs so I will just replace both along with the bearings, lug nuts and bearing buddies within the next two weeks or so.

I had the same art work on my rims when the grease started to fail on my jet ski trailer.

It won't be long now. An incredible fruit set this year in the blueberry field. Perfect weather...I hope it lasts.

400 lbs. I see where you're going! Who needs ballasts when I have them. Right?
