I’ve recently gotten into keeping an aquarium with my son. It was a rough 2 month learning process but it’s finally smoothing out where I think I’ve got it!

It’s a 36 gallon bow-front tank — fresh water.

So....let’s see your aquarium!

I had multiple aquariums in the past. Loved it for a long time. I raised and sold African Cichlids to a pet supplier.
Good luck with yours

I used to keep Oscars, they were fun at feeding time, especially when they got big, had one jump out of the tank once. Spent too much money on Discus and did like the African Cichlids. Two tanks in storage now.

Pictures to come. But the one best thing I've bought for my tank is the hose that attaches to the faucet to do the water changes. Life changer!

I would love to use that but I have to treat my tap water before putting it into the tank ;(

He may be referring to the type of hose you attach to the faucet that sucks the water out of the tank (yes-can be used to pump back in too). This is great as you can use it to clean the gravel nicely.

I used to have an 85 gallon salt water aquarium when we lived in Chicago. I plumbed it into the basement and had a massive filtration system set up down there: particulate, protein skimmer, UV sterilizer, bio balls, auto leveling water supply etc. Worked really well....no basement in NC, so sold the tank and much of the "stuff".

Daughter has a small 10 gallon tank in her room.

Dumb fish got stuck a couple of weeks ago....LOL

This was my last setup 90 gallons (before we moved 4 years ago - still have all the equipment, just not setup) I only did salt water.

PM if interested in purchasing. I'll make you a great deal.

@Julian that is exactly the one I have. Lol on the stuck fish.

@Murf'n'surf I add treatment to the tap water as well but I add it to the tank as it is being filled up with the faucet setup. No issues so far. I'll take pics next time I clean the tank.

My low tech (no CO2) 60 gallon planted tank. Twin canister filtration, dual circulation pumps, dual heaters, with two AquaRay LED arrays (for grow) and a Finnex 24/7 day/night sim LED (for show). The intent is balancing a nature-like equilibrium In a slow-paced environment where differences in balance are slower to progress and therefore easier to notice and correct. It requires very few water changes and minimal issues with algae as long as the plant density is no less than pictured.

Don't have any recent pictures, but this is my marine aquarium. Quite a bit more grown in now, but needs some TLC.

Reviving old thread. My 60 G is long in the tooth, I'm thinking of going 90 or 100. Who's still in the hobby?

I just hate it when folks dig up old threads!

Haven't had a tank set-up in about 20 years and now I'm spending the afternoon looking at 75 gallon tanks on-line! :)

As the great emperor palatine once said.... Do it.

Had a 90 gallon salt water (reef) tank. Fun but expensive and time consuming. Now I just stare out the back at the fish lights.

I hate old threads, my tank still needs work LOL. Fish and coral are generally happy and healthy, but its been pest city. Spent a year battling an aiptasia nightmare, dealing with cyano now, just been annoyed with it for about 2 years. Have been thinking for 1-2 years about rehoming the fish and coral, and breaking it down. Had some of these fish for 10 years now, so also hard to think about giving them away (not like they'd remember me or anything, haha).

My friend has a business with salt water tanks. There's lots of exotic coral and fish that can get expensive very fast. Very interesting stuff

Started planting live foliage.

Just had to take another pic today. Looking good!

I went on vacation with the boat and while I was gone more water evaporates than expected. That exposed the spray bar which splashed even more water out of the tank ruining my stand and making a nice little puddle on the floor. Based on the age of the 60 and cost of a new one, I went with a wider, shallower 40 breeder to allow better light penetration and a 20 high (next to it and ~same height) with an enclosed cabinet to house the filters and equipment. Pet o had the tanks half price so the new setup tanks and stands only set me back $382. It took some doing to get everyone and everything moved over to the new tank; but fish and plants are all doing well so far. Now I get to decide what goes in the 20 gallon.

One of the main reasons I wanna change my tank is that it's a 65 but tall and not deep (front to back deep). The water column is tall but it's a lot of empty space.
