I'm new to this forum but it appears to be a fun group of people with very informative posts.

Here's our solo trip to Bimini this year if anyone is interested.

Admins, feel free to move this thread if it should be posted elsewhere.

Welcome to the forum, your right, fun group with a lot of great information. The Bimini trip looked fantastic. Are Y'all located in Florida?

That is awesome! what were you dates, did you wait for a weather window or just went with it?

We are in Tampa.

We planned a good window for both ways. Left Sunday 6/26 and got back Thursday.

Fairly easy crossing. Set cruise at 6k rpm and held on.

Great video! Looks like you really enjoyed Bimini and had nice water to do it in.

Awesome video....looks like a really nice vacation. Welcome to the site!!

Welcome aboard , great video!:winkingthumbsup"

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the warm welcome.

:thumbsup:Nice job on the vid and welcome to the forum!

Awesome video @JKallay Yamaha and Bimini could use that video to sell boats and increase tourism to the island. ;)

Awesome! Enjoyed the video @JKallay ! Welcome to the Forum

I must have watched this video like 3 times or more. I like the tunes and editing a lot. Thankfully not the same music that is used on 95% of all the boat videos on youtube which is like the same 5 songs or so :D

Where did y'all launch from?

Haulover Marina

Very challenging tide change. At one point on our way back, the tide was coming out with such force we were at a stand still at 6100 rpm and hitting some 8-10 footers. Bow did great deflecting the water to keep us dry. If we would had throttled down, we would had taken on gallons.

Thanks for the info! I'm trying to plan a weekend trip with my wife as well and getting ideas where to launch.

Note to self:
Do not attempt to hand feed a 5ft nurse shark after your wife asks you not to. Shark will draw blood and wife will be pissed. Not sure which was worse.

Lol. It's around 1:05 of video I think.

You certainly know how to make a great first post. Welcome!
