They are in NorCal and there is a strong Tile presence in NorCal (tile is a bluetooth based asset tracking device) and they just popped up in a Starbucks

I can't believe the cops have no interest in recovering the stolen property when you know exactly where it is....very strange! I'm guessing you cold walk into the store and trigger find "findmyipad" and it would start dinging away......

Yeah. This was the case when the ipad still had power (it's been since the first week in December that it was stolen). By now, I'm sure they jailbroke the ipad... but they don't know about my hidden Tile's. I would say the next time I'm in NorCal I could go hunting for it... but it's Oakland and I would rather not get shot . As long as they don't try to steal my identity, they can have my laptop/ipad/etc, homeowners will eventually reimburse me for the loss. (granted they require Oakland PD actually write a police report, which seems like it will never happen)

It's pretty sad when the police have no interest in helping . I understand there are more urgent issues & more serious crimes, but no interest at all just stings
