Soooo.....what originally happened on the "other" site

Hopefully this doesn't bring up any hard feelings or issues but being new(er) to this site I have heard a lot of people talking about the old days on the other site and a lot of drama that came with it.

I've only been on this site and love it here with the comradery and great family feel vibe, but like me I'm sure other newbies keep wondering about the darker time and it just peaks my interest to what brought it all on.

Just curious, that's all.

That moderator on the other site sounds like he has some serious self esteem issues. Going all ban crazy and what not. It's a shame for him because he lost out on all of this but great for us over here!

Somebody should start a thread on here and a game titled "I was banned in XX days on the other site" and see who can set and then beat the record

I wouldn't do it because I'm not a pot stirrer...

but if i was..... it would be on like Donkey Kong.

PS...for the record I don't condone starting a game like that against a poor individual who probably wouldn't even see the humor behind it....but oh lord it would be fun!

The bottom line is pretty much all the members are here now, the forum SW is WAY more functional and the committee that operates this forum ensures we won't have a repeat of events (no one person decides on an action-and issues are discussed to ensure we are consistent/fair/balanced).

I did the same. Interesting! Now the good news is this: I'm new to jet boats and I signed up for both forums around the same time. I was naturally drawn to this site and haven't spent much time on "the other site".

I was originally on the other place, but way too many guys flaming on each other. You won't see that here. The other thing I didn't like on the other place was when I asked a question about what mods to get for my boat. A guy told me to buy a certain mod without disclosing that he was the seller. I thought that was in poor taste but maybe that was just me. I was brand new to the boat and I felt that I was being taken advantage of. I think its great guys sell their own products but I feel that they should be up front that they are the seller and/or manufacturer.

The funny thing is all I did was try to post to a group who was trying to organize a Bimini trip and where having a tough time getting it together. My post said. "Some friends and I do a Bimini trip each year you guys are welcome to join us if interested in more info send me a message." Since this was my first post it had to be approved by a moderator it was denied and I was banned.
