The day has finally come

Ok, I get the analog gauge now. On my boat, since I have 2 engines, my dash has 2 analog gauges on either side of the medallion like yours. But the 2 analogs are the same. Temperature and battery voltage. 1 for the port and 1 for the starboard engine. Have fun today.

That is what I meant to say! Thanks @2nazt . Guess that is why I have a + / - on the medallion for neutral... that must set the buckets. Today's goal - learn how to drive and maneuver.

Unlike other jetboats you can really stay neutral by adjusting the buckets.

I don't have the touch screen but I have the neutral adjustment as well. I love it. Once you get used to it you will find a number of uses of it. Waiting for a skier to get ready on a windy day just set the neutral to +10 or so and point into the wind and the boat will say in the same place. Want to do some trolling fishing just set it to +15 and keep it in neutral and you will be moving along at about 1.5 mph. But for most conditions my boat is still when it is set to -1.

The trolling idea is interesting. Have you tried it? If so, how do you keep the boat going straight?

Well when it is set at +15 the bucket is now 15 mm up from the stock neutral position. There is enough thrust going back to give you the ability to steer the boat. It is a little more difficult to steer than at normal no wake speed. I tried it once had a couple bites no fish. It was also a calm day and not much wind so the less steering was too much of an issue. Also stayed about 50 ft from shore did not want to go too close. I know I promised and I am still working on making a video of the ist e-reverse on our boats.

Second day out. The family and I really enjoyed. Today we just tooled around the lake to get use to the boat and for me to work on the handling. Very early in break-in and topped out a few over 30. Still struggling with it at low speed maneuvering. As you can see from the picture I added, Have some serious dock rub when bringing her in after the morning out. Not the end of the world for me, but a bit disappointed. I am in a tight slip and not interested in getting near my neighbor's beautiful boat. I consider my docking successful even with the rub as I guess it could have been worse . Any way to get this off of the hull and graphics? Have it on the other side as well from turning around on an aborted attempt. Tomorrow we drop anchor and chill.

Are you using fenders coming in? Slow and steady at the dock is key. I use reverse to creep in in neutral when approaching and my wife and friends help keep from hitting anything but fenders. I can usually set up approach and kill engines and grab a dock line and help tie off and stop steady the boat. You will get it. Just keep practicing slowing and stopping turning with reverse.

@Julian I saw ya leaving as I was pulling in. Little one was ready for his nap. Hope ya'll had fun today... it was a hot one. By the way, saw a ski flying through a no wake in front of a swim beach - and about 30 seconds later a patrol boat chasing him down. Not sure how he missed the 4 no wake buoys and the 3 other boats he flew past as we were staying under the limit.

Thanks for the advice @2nazt . We did have some fenders out, but mostly on the other side as I was so nervous for my slip mate. I did run out later and bought a few larger fenders and some better/easier lines that might assist in a quick tie up. Slow and steady I will certainly be.

Was that down by the Holly Point Ramp and beach? People blow through that no wake zone all the time! I was passed very close once by a bigger boat flying through.....

The first two are the worse so from now on you will be ok :) the key is to go slow and play with the throttle, forward and reverse. You can watch some videos on youtube that can really help.

After all this you deserve to chill tomorrow... Have fun and enjoy!

Thanks again all. @Julian , Holly Point looks about right. That guy was moving without a clue, weaving through 3 of us cruising @ no wake.

Are the marks surface only? Meaning not scratches? If just paint or rubber/ plastic scuffed on, I would try a good cleaner and non abrasive brush. Then wax over the area. Anyone else got thoughts? Gotta help him get those marks off his new baby!!

Appreciate the help @BobJohnson . It's marked up and in a few places peeled some of the graphics. I've been able to get some off with just a lot of scrubbing and muscle. What's left will remind me that slow and steady wins the day. Had a great day out on Falls Lake. I'll try to get pics up later.

A few pictures from our anchoring on Falls today. Had the in-laws aboard, so the pictures were only almost perfect! ;)

Looks like a glare from the sun to me!

We used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser pads. They are amazing at taking out our rubs. Don't get the generic ones.
