Water in cabin

I have a 2014 Yamaha 242Limited S. When it rains,even with cover on water accumulates inside the cabin where the Head is placed. Can I drill holes in the bottom to drain the water? If yes where would that water drain to?

I wonder if it’s how it sits where you have it stored. For me, water accumulates on the other side, under the captains chair, but the boat leans that way at the storage place. The way I have to deal with it is to counteract the lean to the right with a greater slope towards the back by cranking up the jack.

There are no drains in that area. I’ve never had water in that spot on my boat but plenty of water will leak through the cover and get into the boat. . My recommendation is to find out how it’s getting in and remedy it

No there are no drain plugs in that cabin. Thanks for info…

You gotta remember too, @Babin Farms trailers his boat, and it'll be easier to work out the water. @Gary Traina is on a lift, with WAY less options unless or until he can pull it and get it on the trailer to tackle this.

@Gary Traina is this boat a secondhand purchase, or are you the original owner? Sounds like the cover has given up the ghost for water repellancy. That's the easiest possibility off the top of my head. Barring that, you might want to try what I do, with adding some inflatable balls to get the cover raised and somewhat more taught, to help it shed water to a different area that might not drain into the head compartment.

Have you been able to identify where it might be leaking in - top seam, lower edge...other possibilities?

I have to guess that the trough around the ski locker is getting filled and overflowing into the head compartment.

I agree with the idea to figure out where water is coming in. But I would also check the self-bailing tube back by the engine compartment on the floor. Crank up the jack and run some water into that. See if it backs up. My bet is that you have that line kinked or blocked and it is allowing the channels to fill and overflow.
