In planning to drill a hole to support a mesh storage bag in the head, I removed the TP holder to confirm my hole would not interfer with anything behind the panel. To my surprise I found the area behind the wall full to the top with water, a plywood support waterlogged. How did the water get there, how do I get it out?

I’m not sure what boat you have. My 242 has a cup holder and a holding tray in front of port side seat, both with holes for water to drain. I haven’t really checked, but they might drain in that area. Would probably only be significant after a rain though. If you figure it out, let us know. I’m interested to know what’s going on. I’ll do some experimenting too.

Checked out cupholders, not the issue, removing them, they are just mounted on top of fiberglass unit. Photo shows water trapped behind removed toilet paper holder

My guess would be that part of the foam between your hulls was filled too much and is blocking a drainage passage. This could be water from anywhere forward (anchor locker drain problem, cup holders in the bow, etc.) that is supposed to drain between the hulls and back to the bilge in the back.

I think were it me I would take a plumbing snake and see if I could find or make a passage laterally back towards the keel. Won't need to be big; just enough to drain.

Or, if you have YES, you could let the dealer handle it. But in my experience, I prefer knowing it was done right and not being out having my boat for a month while they futz with it...

On my boat the tp holder is on the door. I assume this is the left side of the storage/pottie room?

I agree with @tdonoughue ,I would be poking around the bottom of that area towards the centerline of the boat to create a drain path.

Also put a dehumidifier and or damprid in there.

Thanks for all your comments. I'll try to create a water pathway to the Stern. I'm wondering if there also is water in front of the head, under the port bow seat storage area. Anyone know if the bottom of this storage area, under the carpet, is wood or fiberglass?

Hard to say. If my theory is correct, it would depend on which pathway is blocked as to how far you have water. I believe it is fiberglass under there, but I can't say I have ever pulled it up...
