"What kind of boat do you have?"

Am I the only one who doesn't know how to answer this question?

"It's a jet boat" seems wildly inaccurate, yet accurate at the same time.
"It's a Yamaha" seems like it would just confuse them.

I usually say something like, "Well, it's a jet boat, but it's not really a jet boat. It's 23 feet long." The whole conversation is just awkward. Sometimes afterwards if they see it in person, it seems to be a surprise, almost like, "Oh, it's a real boat."

I usually just say it's a Yamaha Jet Boat, but it depends on whose asking. Do they know anything about boats? If they don't it doesn't matter what I say, if they do I may add - it's a 24' bow-rider to YJB and they get it.

There are so many Yamahas around here that the conversation is usually a short one.
Although sometimes I have also used the "it's like a big jet ski" line.

I confess that I've never understood the "big jet ski" thing. Aside from the engines and the fact that they float, these boats are nothing like a jet ski. That would be like me saying my MB is like a 22 foot long Ford truck because it has a Ford engine! I always just said a 21 foot Yamaha. Very few people ever pushed further for details. When they did, I'd go into it - 21 foot bow rider, with twin jet drives.

If they are looking at it and can't see the length or the word "Yamaha" I can't help them. Any detailed questions after that I am happy to answer!
The twin engine part is self-evident when I push the throttle forward for all to see!!
