What else should I be carrying?

....What else should I be carrying?

BENADRYL® saved one of our friends one year... I also carry full, small bottles of Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide, Tums, Imodium (Diamode similar), 2 rolls of water-proof bandage tape, several Instant Ice packs, and double up on the Band-Aids - kids go through them like crazy!
"Good" scissors and tweezers, not the simple ones that come in most kits.

an older one too. small kit with basic essentials... Need to top off for the trip and add a few things. Keep 2 small ones in the car too.

I don't but should. Guess I will be picking one up this weekend.

Fast acting Dramamine.

Quick clot is in all my kits, car and boat. Saw it save lives in the service and now keep with me.

Get some quick clot wraps. Great for deep gashes and amputations if you are far from care.

LOL I was trying to find a website link to the ones I carry.

I have a triangle bandage and cold packs in mine. Also ziplock bags (better for an ice pack if there is ice around--those cold packs never work very well, really).

I am a big advocate of 4x4's, too. My first aid packs are always beefed up with those.

What else should I be carrying?
That is exactly what I have.

Whatever kit you have, just make sure it is not the "old" kind. Mine was 3 years old when I recently discovered all of the handy dandy wipes in it were completely bone dry. Check expiration dates and refresh accordingly so everything is in good shape when you actually need it.

Didn't think of carrying one, until now. Good idea.

Benadryl is a must for us. Great for numerous allergic reactions / sea lice / jelly fish stings, etc. Quick Clot is also something we add to the "standard" kits.

I got a larger adventure medical kit (The Weekender)
as well as a sam splint
and it was all 'free' as I still had some money the company gave me for a FSA that i would have lost at the end of the year.

I figured the kit would cover most scenarios except for a broken arm/leg. The sam splint will help stabilize a fracture on the ride back in... A magazine or newspaper would work the same, but i don't carry those on the boat.

EDIT @Bruce - the main thing i see in my kit vs. yours that I really wanted was: EMT Shears to cut away clothing/shoes/etc with less chance of cutting someone (compared to a knife) and iodine (i trust it more than generic antiseptic, but it is old school).

I have a Johnson & Johnson I bought during Spring Break that the Walmart here had on sale. Great deal and has lots of what you would need. Bought one for my Jeep too. But I also have another bag with additional items I put together with lots of guaze, tape, instant cold packs, and a bottle of sodium chloride.

I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0043X5WK8/ref=pe_175190_21431760_M3T1_ST1_dp_1

I definitely need to get some Benadryl, great idea. I do keep a small medicine "pouch" as well with additional ibuprofen, acetaminophen, antacid, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer.

Hoping I never have to use the "save-a-tooth" option.

Where are you guys buying your Quikclot gauze? Do you pay attention to the expiration dates? Are you using the home products or the military version?

Do you think Celox is just as good? I think I would be more likely to find a use for the 2 gram packs of Celox than a big pack of Quilclot .
