Concrete versus Gel Coat - which is tougher?

That is an unforgiving ramp. Strong currents wreak havoc on rookies. Eons ago when I lived down south that ramp demanded our full attention with an outboard.

I agree currents and wind can make for a tough day. However, I do not understand heading for the difficult side of the dock (current or wind pushing you away) when there are spots available on the easy side (pull close and let the wind or current push you towards the dock).

Looks like a new owner....everyone starts new at some point. He should have just shut it down once his wife had the boat hook on the dock, and gone up there and grabbed it himself. I try and watch out for people like this at my marina and go help them. Primary advice is often - get longer and heavier rope! You can throw it further and pull further. This guys rope was almost string!

Quite often see Yamaha's on his channel. Saw that one, too.

I’ve seen and done worse at better boat ramps. I doubt the guy filming and commenting could do any better. He could actually provide value if he positioned himself so that he could help instead of just film. The child in me would be tempted to show him how far water can be blasted on shore.

I watched about 15 seconds and shut it off. Narrator sounds like a complete asshat.

I just don't get the premise of watching someone struggle as entertainment.

The guy who runs that channel sounds like a complete douchebag

Yeah, he does. Not funny at all with his comments.
He's actually not. He does all kinds of other vids than just the boat ramps. He also helped a guy with a sunken boat get it back running for free. If he sees a local business boat he'll get their number during the vid so his followers can patron those. There was a local crab fisherman who he had his phone ringing off the hook just by posting his phone number on his vids. The guy was so thankful. If I lived there I'd head on down to those ramps and watch the chit show myself. So I'm glad he has videos to watch.

I'm familiar with him, i used to live down there and know that area well and have seen my share of mishaps at that ramp. His help with those engines have ulterior motives. Yes, he has helped those local guys get more business, nothing wrong with that and probably the only part that i respect.

Not sure this is the forum to discuss him but he has actually called the feds on another youtuber in the area for using drones and also logged complaints to YouTube to get other youtubers banned for having a channel down there with the same thing he is doing. He has "jokingly" declared himself the king of haulover but means it. He believes he started the trend of filming and should be the only one filming at BlackPoint Marina and Haulover. I used to watch his channel a lot and eventually unsubscribed and don't watch him anymore.

I don't know if its related but @robert843 (broncosGuru) hasn't filmed at that ramp in a long time. He has gone further North to other ramps instead.

Yeah I follow his channel too.

LOL! I follow pretty much all of them down there.

interesting back story. I unfollowed chitshow but follow MBR for sure. I like the vibe from broncosguru more than the other guy. To each their own. But backstabby moves are never cool.

I guess everyone will have their own preferences, but when I came across his ( chit show) channel, I could not listen to him at all. The bronco guy strikes me as someone knowledgeable, with a good heart, and drinks ALOT of coffee.
The chit show guy gives me the impression that he cannot wait for someone to F up, then he sounds concerned in phony way. Just say you are there to film people messing up, we get it. He was filming a very expensive sunk boat that was being raised. He was so excited, until the owner seemed to threaten him. After that, he commented that he is there to film so everyone can learn.. right. Not a subscriber.

I do watch the Haulover inlet vids , and enjoying seeing all those amazing boats that you will not see on your local lake.

The best Haulover videos IMO are Zip Zap Power. No annoying voices acting all phony. No cringeworthy commentary for the lulz or views. No stealing other peoples media and commenting on top of it like it was their own footage. ZZP just makes nice high quality filming of boats without sounding like an ass or thinking you’re funny when it just comes off as cringe. I love that he doesn’t talk. All those others are annoying AF to me and I can’t stand to listen to them.

I REALLY enjoy the Miami night time ZZP videos. Really soothing seeing all the cool lighting reflecting off the water....
