Consider doing what I did and running a separate 12v fuse box off the house battery. That way you can tie additional accessories in later from one central, fused, location without having to worry about running or tapping off the boat's OEM current (and sensitive) 12v system.

The only thing I did not do, which I'm going to add, is a switch between the fuse box and battery to cut all power if the boat is unable to be stored on a charging system (however normally always is).

Mine looked like this:

Thanks for the super informative replies ! Especially the part about compatibility with apple products as I have them.

I ran a #10 gauge pair of wires off a 30A breaker that is fed from the switched side of the house battery switch to feed a buss bar under the helm, which in turn feeds several circuit breaker protected rocker switches, a totally separate 12V accessory supply system to keep those accessories out of the oem system, so I’ll be able to tap off of that buss bar to feed ckt breakers to the various 12V sockets and USB chargers.

80mil killmat installed. Works great. Got rid of almost all the vibrations and the engine is noticeably quieter. Ran her for over an hour on the river and we could have a conversation at 6500rpms

What did I do to my boat today?

Put it in the water for the first time as its new owner! Haha it’s a 2013 but it’s new to us!

But in the spirit of the thread…. Ordered new wheels and tires. Cleaned and conditioned all the vinyl.

Yesterday and the day before…this includes driving to and from from Southern New England.
Uncovered the boat and opened her up.
New ss/brass propane gauge install to replace broken/rusted original.

New frig. Door latch to replace broken one. Took some research and trial and error to find the right one to fit the existing mounting holes.

View attachment 217940

Patterned a bunch of stuff to keep the wife busy for a while. Cockpit seating and interior rugs.

I also had the job of removing the black water holding bag, yes bag, had been pumped out but always has some left. The fitting had been leaking and pulled out when I was inspecting it. Replacing with a poly tank.

What a shitty job this will be. Just ordered a 20 gallon poly tank to replace the bag. Yup, I said leaking…that reflection is next. One of the PO’s put a bilge pump at the bottom. Currently not working, will replace when tank is installed. Good off label use for my oil extractor, Lol. Gonna have to disconnect the toilet thruhull and plug it while inland anyway.

Before the dirty work began, I tested out the new seat cushions my wife made. She is working on the back cushions.

Finished up the crappy part of the refit yesterday. Installed a new bilge pump at the bottom of the tank compartment. Rain water has been leaking past a corroded aluminum inspection plate, top of the list for replacement when I get her up here. Reset the grate support, that had held the bag, and had let loose, reinstalled the grate to support the tank. Plumbed the hoses directly to the tank, removing the macerator and plugged the hose, with a bung, to the head thru hull for use on inland waters. Now there is no ability to discharge black water overboard. The boat already smells better with hard fittings and a hard tank, instead of a, in my opinion, nasty bag connection. Not afraid to do the dirty work, just wade in with with my barn boots, lol.
Not much to see, but a huge improvement. Will be taking it all out in the off season to paint the compartment white.

We were happy to retire the Luggable Loo.

Finished mounting handheld VHF and Garmin 86SCI to helm.... thought about mounting a chart plotter and fixed mount VHF, but in an attempt to keep the dash relativley uncluttered, going to try the garmin 86SCI for backup maps and satellite communications and the handheld for short range VHF. Removed the factory phone mount/charger that was in this location and ran power to 86SCI and HX890 VHF.

Quick question, instead of tapping it directly to the House Battery, why didn't you tap into the DVSR House Batt side so that you don't accidentally leave it on and drain your batteries?

I haven't done it yet, but that is the route I'm going.
Honestly, that's a good question... but my boat is always plugged in, so.

First time out since getting impeller repitched, new plugs, ribbon delete, RIVA spark arrestor air filter.

Damn! 40mph at 3350 ft elevation at Lake Silverwood. Last time I was here, the boat was a total dog, barely hit 25. Thanks to Glen at Impros!

Had my wife piloting, got on the towable, hit 33 with the towable just to see how much the impeller repitch made a difference. Good times!

Would have been nice to see a step-by-step with testing afterwards, to see if something stuck out as being the best contributor to your improvements. Understandable though, good to see your efforts were rewarded

Old plugs looked perfect. The ribbon delete helped for a couple hundred RPM's, but the impeller pitch definitely would be the big difference maker in my opinion. Only downside is my other impeller for sea level is the one that is dinged up, if I go to San Diego again, I need to get it fixed up first.

The impeller repitch would increased your RPM's, its doubtfull it was the ribbon as others have reported minimal results doing that mod.

Finished my annual boat maintenance..... did 1,2 and 3 earlier this week but was able to do 4-7 today ;)
1. changed oil and plugs earlier this week. new iridiums.
2. Pulled pumps and opened cone to look for water...none found. new o-rings and resealed
3. Finished Hummingbird helix 9 install.
4. Sucked out like 1/2 qt out of each engine with vampire pump as I overfilled when I changed oil.
5. Filled up tank at the marina $170 for 36 gallons lol.
6. Verified that my hummingbird Helix works at max speed. Used "HangOutdoors" homemade bracket method :). hangs down far enough so SIDEVIEW works great....and is not in the way of the lectrotabs I have to install this week

7. Participated in the Lectrotab Group buy earlier this month.... I got my box yesterday.... Mounted the ALC controlled today... will have to mount everything else next week. Almost looks like it belongs there...... was just enough room.

The ribbon allows the engine to breathe better, no question about that. I would assume it actually helps in the lower RPM band vs the top end.

But the impeller change is what made the real difference here...

wow - that is incredible!

am I reading your signature correctly?!? do you have 4 subs? I see 2 in the rear storage areas facing the center of the boat ? where are the others ? If I'm only going top do 1 or maybe 2 subs what would you recommend? and where? also are the docking lights you added bright enough ? I tend to want to go really big with fighting lol - thank you

Finished some minor gel coat repair & changed the spark plugs yesterday. Today was compound/polish the starboard side and just polish the port side. Washed before and then washed and waxed again after the hard work was done. Cleaned the interior and vacuumed as well. Always amazed me how it’s 16 years of age but still looks pretty good!

I added soundproofing a few weeks back and forgot to say that I only had enough to cover half the engine bay (forward/aft exposed gel coat parts). It had made a big difference, we can actually listen to music while cruising, so I can’t wait to get some more to do the rest of the engine bay and hatches.

A little over a week until we head to the Ozarks for about a week so trying to get everything squared away!

I wish it did that. For some reason, it just doesn't. Maybe it's because I'm using an adaptor from a 4-pin connection? My towing vehicle is a 2011 Toyota Highlander Hybrid.

If there's a way to do this automatically I'd be all for it.

Mine is connected using the 7pt connector and I have never used the lockout tab that hangs off the trailer
