@Julian - I see the extra cans on the back... any special mod to get them into the tank or did you just plan to hold them over the edge and pour the gas in?

We didn't have to use our gas on the way over. We did use it when we rescued a boater on monday. I just tied a docking line through the handle on the back, leaned over and stuck the nozzle in the hole, then held onto the line to keep the can up. This worked very well.
(I moved your post over here so as not to clutter up the photo post).

Would it be beneficial to have a sea anchor or drift sock in the event that someone was stranded? That would at least keep the bow pointed into the waves.

If you need a bolt in Bimini, track down ric desantis in 4q, Bimini Sands. If he does not have it, go to Browns hardware in north Bimini, but stop by weechs next to water taxi first.

I would like to know if the trim tabs made any differenve for this rough crossing.
@bronze_10 After being in @1948Isaac boat for much of the Exuma trip last year he was anxiousness to show off his new trim tabs to me this year in Abaco. In 4-6 ft seas would tabs on our boats make much of difference probably not in fact probably better to not have them deployed in that situation in 2 foot chop maybe even 2-3 chop yes the make a tremendous difference. Enough so that I feel these should be a standard option on these boats now. I plan to install some this off season as I boat in some very large bodies of water such as Winyah bay which you have been in. The trade off is fuel economy last year the boats made the 100 mile trip between Bimini to Chub and still felt they had enough fuel to get to Nassau this year the 100 mile stretch between West End and Spanish Cay the boats which both now have tabs and they used them as we hit 2 ft chop most of the way used almost a full tank of gas to make it to Spanish when we got there they both needed to have fuel.

I think @Bill D has footage of some "lumpy" weather/waves the last outgoing group hit few miles out. Hope his GoPro did not go limp... lol.

@robert843 Totally spot on! - in my book.

I have few things to add, really. I find myself using the tabs every single time I'm out giving rides - just to smooth the ride.
Yes - those should be standard in our boats. Some designs may interfere with wake surfing, so choose your design carefully.

As far as use in high seas - that is tricky, dropping the tabs increases the risk of stuffing the bow and taking on water - when climbing big waves.
