I got my pins soldered and crimped on the wires. I hope to complete it this week.

@subysti , Congrats on your successful mod BUT the two things on your Connex screen that I would most like to duplicate are the 92% fuel level and more importantly the 78 degree water temp !! lol . I'm a long way south of you and our water temp is no where near 78 yet ?

I cut and spliced. I do this for a living so cutting and splicing was no issue. Used double heat shrink to make sure it was sealed. As for the water temp, unfortunately I wasn't in the water, still stuck on the trailer.

Well I went to install the new wires (16ga) with pins attached and everything went well routing the loom/wires through the engine compartment. I unplugged the connector and pushed the little white rectangle on the connecter to release the pins all good so far :winkingthumbsup". I pulled out the Aux Batt pin and couldn't get my pin/wire to seat :(. It would not go in far enough. The issue is when I soldered/crimped the pin on, I did not crimp enough therefore the pin diameter is just a little larger and would not go in the connector far enough to seat (see pic). In hind sight I would have used 18ga wire and cut the crimp ears off and then soldered the pin on , I think this would have worked. I ended up cutting and splicing. It WORKED.:D
The first connext pic is with just house/aux battery on. The second pic is with both system and house battery on. :winkingthumbsup" :jimlad: [flag]

See looks like I'm not the only always getting mostly 12.5 to 12.4 v reading on my connext. Seems that's the norm for the connext reading?

Sweet. Did this today. Finally can see the separate readings!

Thanks to everyone who posted pics, etc.; makes these things way easier!

So I going to tackle this mod over the weekend. Anyone have tips on the best run for the wires to get them from the battery to the pinout?

Along the wall of the engine hatch is pretty good way to run it.

Where are you guys buying the pins for the end of the wires that go into the plug?
You just tap into the wiring I believe is what most are doing.

Yeah...that is what I did, and pulled on the plug to much and broke the pin on the end of the wire going into the plug....so I need a new pin....just one!

Oh I see. That sucks. Check out Ledconceptslighting.com in their accessories page. They have pins to make plugs for leds. Not sure if this will work or not tho. Haven't seen what the pins look like on the STU.

So everyone I went and looked and the lead coming out of my switch for the house battery had a second wire with it. I took apart the battery switch and swapped the leads for the house and start batteries. Sadly this is how it was labeled so it looks like it was installed wrong. Hooked everything back up and poof I now have two different readings. Did not have to cut, splice or change anything else at all. Hope others have the same luck.

Interesting find though, I cut and ran power to just the SYS BATTERY wire and it worked. Did not have to cut the AUX BATTERY wire. I found this out by luck, as I have a volt gauge that tells me my house battery voltage and did just the SYS wire and tried it to make sure I was doing it correctly and my AUX matched my volt gauge and SYS was different reading.

I was going to mention this earlier. There is no reason to cut both and run two new wires. As soon as you cut one, you just broke continuity and solved the problem. Run one wire from the appropriate battery to connect to the pigtail and you're done.
I'm more curious about what @Asok found with his. He said he didn't have to cut and splice anything, just rearranged a couple of wires at his switches, if I read it right.

Maybe a stupid question so bare with me cause I'm still new to all this dual battery setup stuff, especially the DVSR but my first thought (whether or not valid I don't know) is, does switching those leads somehow affect which battery the DVSR charges first. In other words will swapping those battery leads cause the DVSR to charge the house battery before the start battery now?

No it will not. It's only affecting how the batteries are displayed on the connext display. As long as you don't mess with the Perc switch, when engines are running the stators will charge the starting bank first then house bank.

Is that just dirt on your screen or is it delaminating?
