Oh yeah! So that one may end up more of a boys trip with my two bous or something. We wanna put in at portage (nearly the most southernmost point of Lake Michigan) and get to the top. We have several ideas, like stopping at the marinas on the way up, sleeping on the boat (we do this every year) maybe even flying like 10 kites and have the wind sail us one way or the other if it works out.

That was the idea! I mean, we will probably have more traditional ones but we do have a single line parafoil and a couple poles we hope to use for a "sail". More like hanging towels out to dry. But if wind is over 10 mph it may be a find a dock night. Still, would be a long weekend adventure at a minimum and needs really good conditions. Maybe momma pick us up by mackinac with trailer so it's one way trip.

Been working on rehabbing the aluminum trailer getting it ready for the Yamaha. New torsion axles, brake kit, brake actuator, bunk brackets, boards and picking up the new wheel/tires tomorrow. It’s been a slow process but we’re getting close to being done.

Spotted our local pond gator today and also seen the SS United Stated being towed into Mobile to be stripped down and eventually sunk off the coast of Pensacola to create a reef View attachment 231777View attachment 231778
I had read a while back that some outfit was going to re fit the SS United States for luxury cruises… its a shame that fell through. She still holds the speed record for the Atlantic crossing I think. The Queen Mary was the next fastest ship.. it could out run the WWII era German torpedo’s. When the QM would leave England, she would start at the back of the harbor and go to all ahead flank and by the time she approached the mouth of the harbor she would be going at least 38 knots… I’m not a cruise person, never have been on a large cruise ship, but I’d think a ship like the SS United States would be more enjoyable than one of the mega cruise liners of today…

Working on the trailer today and figuring out what else I need as I go. New trailer plug, clean up the wiring and a couple more bunk brackets. Going to wait on the brackets to see exactly the size I need to get. I’ve got the bunks as close to the MFI trailers as I can.

Tuesday night into Wednesday morning we had a blizzard with 70mph wind gusts. Below is the building we keep the AR230 in over the winter, not sure which side they put it on because it can be on north or south side (this is a pic of the north side. We were suppose to get it out of storage in a week or two. Unsure when it will be now if the building doesn’t have power and if there was any damage or fire damage to the inside.

The Broad Lake thawed over the last few days. Nothing but white caps this morning. Malletts Bay, below is still locked up.

Got about 8” of snow yesterday and the night before. Glad to see it! Mid to end of next week the NWS says there could be a large storm that will sweep across central CONUS (continental United States) … keep it coming my local lake needs it! By Sunday it will be 60* and most of this snow will have melted.
