We can see clearly now…replaced the scratched and worn clear vinyl windows on the 5 Bimini curtains this afternoon.

Removed the 34yo Freedom 10 (1000 watt) inverter/charger and installed the Victron Multiplus 12/2000-80 inverter/charger in its place. It works well and now I have to install the smart shunt, the Cerbo gx and 5” touch screen.

Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to drool on your thread. But I really like the Victron product line so far. Sounds like that is going to be a very sweet setup.

I also installed a 20a AC breaker, wire and gfci outlet on the boat to plug in the hot water heater.

Did you wire the ground for the battery charger and the ground for the solar input on the system ground side of the shunt?
Also, looks like you need to run a software update on the shunt?

Yes, and yes, I have not yet updated the firmware.

Very good! The shunt will update SOC as energy is put back into the battery from those sources…..

What about your outboards? Do they just have their own start batteries?

The Yamaha 9.9’s get 12v from the two, 198ah 4d batteries.

Better late than never, an item to address from the survey two years ago....I finally removed anchor 2 and anchor 3 from the lockers forward on the boat, for a refit of anchor 2. #2 is a Fortress FX23 aluminum connected to 10' of 3/8" G4 galv. chain and 200' of 5/8" 3-strand nylon. #3 is a 16# Danforth which is a lunch anchor and taking up space. Our primary anchor is a 45# Mantis with 120' of 3/8" G4 chain, a storm anchor rating >50kts wind for the Catamaran.



So, I am redoing the connection of the chain to rode, which was lacking any confidence from me of being secure. I don't understand why somebody does this.



So I spliced an eye with a thimble in it. And used a shackle to hold them together.





K Not my best work, the line is old and stiff with a lot of set in twist and I need to buy fids to replace the screwdrivers and needle nose pliers I used, but it should hold better than the bowline, in my mind anyway. We are also replacing the Fortress FX23 anchor with a 33# Rocna.

Not yet, will put it up for sale in the Spring. Trying to convince myself we don't need a stern anchor. This Danforth has 10’ of 5/16” chain and 120+‘(eyeball) of 1/2” nylon rode.

Does your boat have anchor lockers in the sponsons or is it in the main hull forward? Trying to picture in my mind how it looks if you’re at anchor and riding out a night on the hook with wind and waves…

Yes, each hull has it's own anchor locker, forward. They both have anchor rollers. The starboard side holds the 45# Mantus with 120' of 3/8" G4 chain for the windlass. The port side locker now holds the 33# Rocna, 10' of G4 and 200' of 5/8" nylon rode. It is stowed in the locker. Yes, the end is tied off. I do use an anchor bridle.

So the bridle allows you to center the “rode” no matter which anchor you’re using?

Yes. Centers the anchor and reduces sway
