0 - 60 mph in 2.3 Seconds, Tesla Model S Anyone?

My neighbor took me for a ride last week in his new P100D. In ludicrous mode the acceleration is unlike anything else you can imagine. The power is instant.

It is insane. We put the 90D in ludicrous mode and I honestly couldn't tell the difference.....fast as hell either way! I suppose if we were drag racing someone, then the .x of a second faster will be noticeable...but when you are just at a light and stomping on the "gas" and you take off like you are in a freaking high speed roller coaster.....doesn't matter as much. Gives you that feeling in the pit of your stomach like a coaster too....Nothing But Torque!!!!

That one is insane. I had a P85D loaner, when mine was in for the service and it's crazy. The P100D is even faster!

It does, however, have some crappy user interface issues....like no AC controls for the back seat, and the only way to turn on the back seat heaters is via the front seat screen. Not that this offsets the 0-60! LOL

I'll stick to my 6.5 mpg F-250 Super Duty!

I like the sound of horsepower, I happen to get 22 Mpg on the highway, so I will stick with my Z06

Dan, I believe you mean "the sound of Internal Combustion".

The Tesla has horsepower but its a different sounding horsepower

Yes, internal combustion burning up fossil fuels, sounding mean and nasty out the exhaust, sound of the supercharger whining, yep all that stuff. Tesla's are quick out of the gate, but not much for stamina with a top speed of 155 Mph. I can keep smiling up to 195 Mph even with the Stage 3 Aero Package on my car for down force.

Can't wait for Yamaha to connect electric motors to the jet pumps. Then we will have ourselves a nice boat. They could call it the ME-1 motor

I 've learned today the Model X weights close to 7,000lbs. The guy I talked to confirmed the towing possibilities, he also said the car feels incredibly stable/planted when towing. Which is not a big surprise given the curb weight, and that it is all low to the ground.
Reminded me of this post:
This is not me, but I'm just going to leave this here...

I'd rather have this, it will do 0-60 in 2.3 sec and it will sound a hell of a lot better than the Tesla.

I have a neighbor over a mile away who has loud pipes on his car....and its really annoying to be able to hear him reving his car over a mile away! Noise pollution is real. So I'm all for silent cars! Silent but deadly! :winkingthumbsup"
