When anchoring at our local sand bar, I usually tie a fender to my anchor so kids don't trip on it.

What are some easier ways to so this? Are there any products specifically for this purpose? Maybe a floating flag with a small rope to tie to the anchor?

But in all seriousness, after searching online it looks like your bouy idea is the most common and probably easiest route to go.
 
Perhaps attach this to the line :-) Although something more realistic looking might keep more people away! LOLorange_fin.jpg
