I am looking to pull the trigger this year on a yamaha jet boat. Was toying with the idea of a AR210 as I love the bench seat, but the baby motors kinda priced me out. Next up would be the 212S but not a huge fan of the color schemes over the past two years and want to minimize the amount of work I have to do to make it how I want it - stereo, ballast, subs, etc. Which gets me into the 212X. I like the boat (minus the co captain chair) just am concerned about the price. Especially since I went into the off season looking at a 40k AR210 and am now staring down the barrel of a 63k 212X.

Any of you scoop one up this year? Curious to know what to expect as far as an OTD price.

Not sure I’d be too concerned about the salt water. I’d bet it was flushed after every outing. I’d drive the 15 hours to save $16,000!!!

Can’t talk much on the 2020 212X but i did pick up a 2019 212x and out the door with an an even more extended warranty and “boat show pricing” was $67k. Basically saved about $5k on prep fees

Yea, I totally get that J-Rad, and I would for sure be getting a bigger boat if my lake Community didn't have restrictions on size. 21 ft overall. Including swim platform. I am going to feign ignorance at the extra 3 inches on the 212 and 210's :-x. To be honest, without this restriction I would probably be looking at a inboard purpose built wake boat rather than the Yamaha, although I am excited to have stumbled into the swiss army knives of boats. It's also a bit of a tight slip so having additional maneuverability over and inboard will be nice. I was actually considering the 212S, but the amount of upgrades to get in on par with the X, specifically drilling holes for integrated ballast gives me the willies.

Makes total sense. From your comments this far, it sounds like you wouldn't really be content with anything other than the 212x. I guess following the theme of the thread, just get the best price you can and enjoy! Historically, one of the big draws to Yamaha is how inexpensive the financing is. I got 2.99% for 5 years and 5.99% after. It made my AR240 more affordable than any other in the price range. The fact it was better equip at the price made it the best value as well.

Best of luck with your purchase. Hope to see sooner pics of that new boat full of smiling faces soon.

Hit me up when you're ready for some equipment and I'll throw some tempting discounts at you.

Yea, I hate basically locking myself into one boat model but it seems like the best option to give me what I'm looking for. I'm looking forward to the day when I can stop what-if-ing the purchase and can start thinking of how to upgrade. Will def be hitting you up for some watersport toys!

Welp, I pulled the trigger on the 2020 212X. It looks like most people went with the Black and yellow/green option but we fell in love with the Grey and red one. Now we're just waiting on the PA dealer to be able to open so we can sign the paperwork and take the boat home. I have a feeling like the May 1st open date is going to be extended though :-/ Although the weather has been meh here in Jersey, the waiting on such a big purchase is killer. Can't wait for that first solo ride.

For reference, this is the beauty I've been cruising around in for the past 15 years, and my family the 17 years prior to that. Many a memories made but def looking forward to that upgrade. :-) stratos 1.jpg
