Bimini 2014-June 22

5 on mine

FYI - Just got off the phone with State Farm, they said as of this year, new policies will have the Bahamas coverage included. So I ended up SAVING money vs my old policy. However I had $800 worth of towing coverage on that policy that no longer exists on the State Farm policy. I think they also said they aren't writing policies for boats in FL anymore, which sounded strange to me!

4 on my boat.

I did confirm on my State Farm policy to that the rider is included for Bahamas. I have the rider number buried away somewhere if anyone needs it.

No rider needed for state farm, its part of their standard language.

you are correct, I mispoke. I think they call it an endorsement or something. It is included...

It was an endorsement. And the coverage of the bahamas goes all the way down below the Exumas.

I called BoatUS about their towing coverage. They state that a temporary slip in Bimini is considered a transient dock. This would not be a dock to dock tow. In other words, the gold unlimited at $181 is not required. The unlimited at $149 is all that is required. It is also effective at midnight the day you sign up, 30 days is not required.

Thanks for the info! I'm not ready to purchase this yet but will shoot for it before we leave. Glad we dont need 30 days for it to be in effect.

My head count just increased from 2 to 4. Our friends that went with us last year (Anne & Mike) are going again this year, Mike could not pass up the opportunity to fish. @Chrissy even with the addition of my friends, my offer for Jim to fish on my boat still stands. Looks like Mike is going to ship his fishing gear to me and I am borrowing some from my brother-in-law, thankfully that is one less thing I have to spend money on right now.

Have you looked into requirements for bringing a pet with you?

There is some info at http://www.bringfido.com/travel/international/bahamas/ but it seems that there is often inaccurate info posted online about Bahama's customs procedures.
Our first trip over in 2011, which was part of the organized Bimini Fling, one of the non-Yamaha boats brought their dog and had no problems getting through customs. However, I am not sure if they actually told anyone they brought the dog.

Thanks @RobA !!
I was looking to bring something for the pig roast gathering and wondered about how many we have going and how many are going to be at the cook-out....

Does anyone have a connection with a t-shirt printing shop ?
Maybe we could have some Bimini Fling shirts made up ?
any interest ?

I had considered the T-shirt thing and never moved on it. Just too busy lately. No insight on a vendor though.

What about the vendor that @Julian is using for the Jetboaters swag, I got a couple Jetboaters shirts from them and they turned out nice. We could incorporate the Jetboaters logo plus add something like "2014 Jetboaters Bimini Fling".
