Nicely done! Now I have to get on my part 3....Thanks a lot!

For some reason these part 2 and 3 videos cant be played on an phone or ipad.......is it cause of the song and maybe a copyright thingie? part 1 plays fine. whats the work around?

the songs on parts 2 and 3 came from youtube, part 1 from my hard drive

I watched 3 on my iphone. No issues.
Ditto. iPhone 5. For the copywrite thing you can just accept it and then they tag songs. No biggie to accept it.

part 4 of 4, here and on the video composition thread........I guess its time to start voting !!!!:winkingthumbsup"

@justason is trying to jump the gun! The best part of mine is still coming up!

I'll get mine up in the next couple of days :)

@RobA took an early lead in the video competition but "The Old Man" @justason has pulled ahead and is leading the pack to the finish line!

Make sure you watch the whole thing.

I recorded that show and plan on watching it tonight. Hopefully future newbies that watched this show won't be scared off from going.

curse you people for making this awesome. (jk, nobody is really being cursed).

It's been in my head for years to do this but now I can't stop thinking about it every time I'm around the boat. One day...one day......

@tim h I bought a Uniden MHS135DSC a while back. It performed great. Waterproof, GPS built in, DSC included. I was able to reach the other Tim on his "built in " radio from about 7 miles away. I bought in on sale with an internet coupon for maybe $120.

I made a big mistake by not purchasing a Handheld VHF prior to going on our trip...
Can anyone chime in with a recommendation for/against a particular radio ??
THANKS !

Any thoughts on this one ??

I have a very similar unit, however mine does not have the gps feature, and after 4 years I am still very happy with my unit. The sound quality is very good and it holds a charge for a very long time.

This trip (2014) I thought my radio was going bad because it kept turning on and off by itself. Come to find out the new suction cup holder I was using to hold the radio was the culprit. The top lip of the holder is the exact height of the on/off button and as the boat bounced the radio would turn on or off. After turning the radio around so the lip counld hit the on/off button the radio worked perfectly.

@tim h, we took a pair of Uniden MHS-050.

They worked great and come with a nice charging stand. The radios are completely sealed, waterproof and floating. The battery lasts for multiple days. With all the people you bring, I think you could use more than one handheld.

They are a closeout product now. You can get them for $70 a pair on Ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Uniden-MHS-...958?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35d94f7d36

Mine is the hx751, basically the same but without the gps. Works great, but I don't like the charger interface, it has to plug into a small stand rather than plugging directly into the radio. I'm sure they do it that way to maintain the waterproofing.

The radios I used have wireless charging. I thought this was a really nice feature for something that you expect to get wet.
