Bimini 2014-June 22

Heard from the the dealer today. I sucked up some sea weeds that clogged the exhaust cooling system. They replaced water box and exhaust temp sensor. #bimini2015

I'll bite. I made the pt.1 which is just the journey from Baltimore to Florida.

It's not that exciting but an integral part to whole journey. Working on the second part which is the crossing and arriving in Bimini.

I should disclose @justason and @waterboy are in this. Let me know if that is an issue.

issue?...ya, the 212x within your video gives you an unfair advantage towards awesomeness !!! BOOM

nice video, good job editing.....Imovie?.... I've been playin around with microsoft movie maker and the gopro stuff past few weeks, gopro has crap templates, moviemaker has limited features......I'm thinking I need to get a IMAC........bury the cost under the vacation budget...

My first video that i posted in the GoPro short thread was using the gopro software. This one was windows movie maker. The transitions and splicing were easier in moviemaker, but like you said.... very limited. I had issues with both pieces of software crashing often. Luckily the developers took this into account and coded it to periodically auto-save the projects. Moviemaker also seemed more efficient rendering the videos in both the export and editing process.

I dont have a mac, but would love one for this purpose.

I found this software called Lightworks that apparently is the tits, but has a steep learning curve. I've read it is used by Hollywood editors too. I downloaded it but was soon discouraged as it has lots of moving pieces. I just didnt have the time to learn it. I think I'm going to try and sit down to learn it for part 2.

@justason and everyone else... Are we on for the video contest for Bimini 2014? I almost have my editing done! Post em' up gents!

Hell yeah !!! I have made little headway in this effort, I'll step it up !
being a huge fan of little rules hows this for starters:

1. enter as many videos as you want (parts 1, 2, 3 etc) like the format @RobA is pursueing, but the votes go for overall videos and story vs a per video post. (votes per player not per video)
2. Do we want to play for prize or pride/ bragging rights?. The spoilers can paypal the victor some nominal amount ($5 ?) for the spark plug fund or victory beers.....or be know for total forum/Bimini awesomeness for years to come....something you can pass onto your grandchildren.
3. that's about all I got.

format:
1. I could start a poll thread now, but editing the poll to add names probably wouldnt work ( @Bruce )? and folks may pre-vote before we get full content
2. I could run a bimini video thread, then after a given date set up a poll that will reference that thread. folks can upload and add as they see fit, when they see fit.
3. Set a date, have everyone hold onto their content, then on a date make the thread, allow a day for uploads, etc....

I'm thinking format 2 ! this would help kick the rest of us in the butt to get things going as we see uploads...............What drop dead date :: August 15 ????

What if we have a video submission thread then a separate voting by likes thread like we did with the logo contest. I can copy the submitted videos to the voting thread when we are ready to start voting .

All great ideas! I don't have strong feelings about a winners pot either way. My goal is to induce more people to join is next year after seeing all these awesome videos!

Wow, I thought I was nuts thinking that this would be an awesome journey if I ever find a boat and you drove a little further than I would have to! Did you take two weeks off? Damn!

The reason we have gone Monday to Saturday morning is to give everyone the weekend before and after to travel.

Found this and also post on the Jetboaters.net Facebook page. I believe this happened the Friday when we were their. Our group was having a captiain's meeting at the other pool.

I took 7 days off, Friday 20th, Mon-Friday 23-27 and Monday 30th. I only really needed 6 days off but I took the Friday before to tie up any loose ends before we left.

It was 4 days of driving split about 11 hours first day and 8-9 the second. A couple of pages back I posted a pic of my spreadsheet for costs.
