Our other dog was a hardcore black lab...loved the boat swimming and water of course.....we're forcing our shepherd to be a water dog......which is like trying to train a duck to fetch

Time to resurrect this thread.

The new boat is Walle approved. He loves having more room to run from bow to stern when watching the ducks and other birds.

The good old "Why are you taking my picture look".

Birds!

This topic hits close to home for us....our boy has been just about everywhere with us ever since he joined our family a bit over 14 years ago. This will probably be our last season with him. He's old, he has Cushing's Disease and is having a very hard time getting around these days. It's almost like having a puppy again except without the endless energy.

He's going to make a few trips with us in the next few weeks...up to Chico to see my daughter get her Master's, then out to the desert on Memorial Day and probably his last trip to the river in June.

I hope he handles all this well. He's been the best darn dog we ever had. The kids all love him, it will be hard when he says goodbye. :(

Dewey never stopped moving enough for a pic... For an older / slightly overweight dog, he acted like a puppy again. I wish I could have gotten a pic of him sitting in the bow with his nose in the air and ears flying in the breeze. I think he enjoyed it, but next time we'll take him to the river where he can play on the beach.
