Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. Anything I need to know besides sealing the anchor locker drain hole? On a side note, if you get an option to purchase the platinum plus protection, do it. They coat the gel coat, floors and all upholstery and you are covered for 5 years against stains, rips, tears burn holes fading pretty much anything, if you even get paint spray on the gel coat they fix that also. States you will not need to wax for 5 years. For the $1100 price tag, i was all for it!
We did a little research on the platinum plus protection and we are not adding it to the final bill. Sounds too good to be true and come to find out, you pay $1100 upfront and your only covered for $2000 on the exterior and $2000 on interior. I'll spend the day waxing it myself for $100
That is not to say that buying it is good or bad. That is to say that you should understand what it is that you are buying before you drop the coin. We had an an insurance policy at work once that cost $2k in premiums a year. Maximum payout during that year was $1500. It is not right or wrong, but if you don't know what you are getting, that is a problem. Read it and ask those probing questions of how things work (deductables, premiums, where are claims made, how are claims made, etc.) before you make your decision.
Congrats Craig! I bought the same boat same color last year...love it! Funny, Anchor locker mod I did. What a great sized boat with power. Upgraded the stereo abut and added Cobra Fins(props Jeff and we love it. Just dropped it in the water this weekend for the first of the season here in Michigan. Bring on boating season!!!!
