we keep the boat at a remote storage unit that is surrounded by trees. We had a pretty viscous storm last night. Went to pick up the boat today to get her ready for a dudes trip we've been planning for 6 months on Thursday. This is what I saw when I pulled up.

I didn't win the Mega Millions last night but I'd say I had a lot of luck on my side last night!

Lucky indeed! Storms are my biggest fear with storing a boat outside too.

WHEW!!!! That's too close for comfort.

Whew!
Can't get much closer than that...
Several years ago my son and I were standing on the front porch waiting on his bus...he was probably 7 or 8 years old. Light rain after a night of heavy storms so we were under the porch roof...one of the pines in our yard just topples across the front yard parallel to the front of the porch maybe 20 feet away. It is dead quiet for a couple seconds after the crash and in that moment he says in a hushed little voice: "Dad, did you see that?"
Guess you had to be there but I'll never forget that moment....if he had been standing on the lawn like he usually did before the bus arrived....
Ive seen a lot of tree damage to houses, cars, and people over 20 years as a firefighter...the tree always wins.
