Check your Cleats......

I'd love to see a photo of the hull behind these cleats.....hopefully it is reinforced?

@Elio195HOI have you tried sticking a long shop vac hose in behind the hull to see if you can suck up the missing nuts?

I didn't use a vacuum, but I sent a kid in. Once I remove the cushions, I'll see if its accessible. I used a mirror and flashlight to inspect.

Has anyone figured out how to reach the middle cleats? You can access the fronts thru the storage bins and the rears thru the engine bay but I'm stuck with the middle ones. Thought about taking the side cushions off and cutting a 3 inch hole. Thoughts?

Yep had mine checked front and back all loose. Bad bad bad.
Techs couldn't get the mishap ones. Any ideas?

After you tighten the nuts put some 5200 on and around the nuts, they wont come off. I use 5200 all the time and you can remove items secured with it; it is difficult but doable. A putty knife will make it easier. The nuts will not come off but if you put a wrench to it they will release, unless you have gurly arms. :hilarious: :jimlad:

Most of my cleats have come loose or fallen off. I had my service center go in and tighten all of them.

Tied off to a friends boat this weekend at the Sandbar and heard a loud Pop. I guess Scarab thought glue was enough to hold the cleats on. No bolts were attached as the damage would have been worse, Even looked to make sure nothing fell off but the cleats were tight as can be right before the incident. Now I need to pull the boat apart and make sure everything is properly secured....
How would fix this? I have two cleats that have popped off on the left side of my scarab. The one in the front left is by the seat. I dont See any access point to be able to tighten the bolts. It looks like solid fiberglass behind the seat. Same with the one in the middle of the boat on the left side.
