Connect Power (Red) from Amplifier directly to House Battery or Dual Battery Switch?

Can you exlain these connections for me? Best practices.

All grounds to one bus, then from the bus to each ground post ( house and start)?

Or all grounds to bus, bus to one post, then post to post?

Technically each amp should have its own power and ground wire, regardless on weather your installing both kits or not. A lot of times people will use a larger wire and jump them from amp to amp which technically is incorrect.
I would think that would be bad. I was thinking more along the lines of 0 awg from battery to distribution block, then 4 awg to each amp. 2 lines from helm to battery rather than 4.

I'm not certain from your description, but....
If your amp positive is connected to the post of the switch that also goes to the house battery then that is electrically the same as going directly to the battery and you aren't isolating the battery from the amp when the switch is off.

See PaulyB's post above. It sounds like you have the 3 post battery switch (on-off-combine) which means your amp cable should connect to the common post, not the battery 2 post
It is a four post on off combine switch. Positives for each battery and positives for the items attached to the battery, each isolated with the off switch. The amps don't receive power with the off switch. Only with on, from the house battery or combine from both.

What I did was this:

  1. Ground wire from each battery neg post to ground bus bar and all neg connections made to bus bar except onboard charger.
  2. Starter battery pos connected to boats positive cable
  3. House battery pos connected to a positive bus bar
  4. On board charger connected to battery posts (so each posts has wires only)
