That article said that damages were estimated at $280k. Imho that estimate seems a few million $ low.

That is not a big port....it looked to me like the ship's stern was swinging around to fast and they just powered their way out..... look at the google map of the port and you can imagine what the largest 1000 foot Carnival cruise ship would look like in there!
Then they would be looking at all the gel coat repair threads hereNo way that thing would hold a ship that large. Article said the ship was leaving a nearby port and started to drift towards the small marina. Cruise ship had to gun the engines to avoid hitting it but in hindsight they probably did about the same damage as if he was to hit it anyways![]()
