Delivery of Grimalkin aka FisherCat

No, no alternators to charge batteries. Little 9.9’s. I have 175w in solar that keeps the batteries voltages up. We have shore power and a Honda 2200 to plug into and charge the batteries as needed.

Is there room to consider converting the gennie to propane for longer/cleaner running? Not sure if they have a conversion kit for your model, but I'm switching mine to allow a longer run, as well as not having to winterize it or worry about the carb if it sits unused for a while

The pilot hole is pissing.

I didn't fully appreciate the location when you mentioned the color difference. Given these photos, I would have gone with the pink one if it were cheaper...

We put the Main and Genoa sails on yesterday while winds were 4-5kts. I reconnected the masthead wind transducer today, that I cut when the mast was taken down. We also found a place in the Pantry, aka, quarter berth, just aft of the galley, for the Dometic dual zone Frig/freezer. And I managed to hang the Majestic 12V/120V 32” TV on the cabin bulkhead.78935233-D23E-4A3B-A189-3060F806AD6D.jpeg

The cockpit is looking better now. Cushions, pillows and a new cockpit table mounted to the old Zwaardvis rebuilt adjustable table leg that had been seized in one position. Freed it up, tapped some existing holes and added a locking knob.

Are you going to get a code zero? I found that the 46 Lagoon we had with the self tacking jib had horrible down wind performance. We really needed a code zero but it did not come with one.

Not yet. We will have to evaluate going downwind with our 135 Genoa or our asym spinnaker set up in an ATN spinnaker sock first. We will be short handed. I have only sailed her on a beam reach and grinned at 8.5kts with a reef in the main and full genoa.

We hit 9 knots in that 46’ Lagoon in a beam reach with 20-23 knt winds. I tell ya though when those gusts hit with no reefs and you start eyeing that table of wind speeds and reefing wind speeds your ass puckers a little. I think the boat we had said reef 1 on the main sail at 25 knt winds. That’s the one thing about a Cat I don’t like is you can’t feel the wind force.

Leaving the marina this morning. Heading to Malletts Bay for tonight’s fireworks. Trying out a mooring for a couple of weeks.

Changing the oil in the motors.

This measuring Funnel came with the boat and I found it very useful for measuring and releasing the oil to fill the motors with the right amount without spilling any. A Yamaha 9.9 needs 26 oz.

When are we going to see this move from the Fishercat crew??

Most likely never while underway. Our cat’s motors are inboard of the hulls, under cockpit seat hatches. They can be tilted out of the water, but just barely so you need to aim for the 9’ between the lower units/props.
I was under there the other night clearing obstructions in the cockpit drains, but I was on a mooring.

I watched that video again and based on the water surface and the speed of that Cat, they had to be motor sailing. Which makes it even more crazy.

Part of the perks of choosing the delivery captain we did was that he has been an ASA instructor for 20+ years. After 9 days on the cat, I was able to test for 101,103 and 105. 114 is next, will do with Wife on our boat.
The price was too good to pass up. Total price was $200, including $125 for my half of the boat fee plus $25 for each test.
I assume @BigN8 already has 114 in his log book, per his recent charter.

Using an anchor bridle between the hulls. Connected to the anchor chain on starboard bow.

A look at the boat today.
