5-6 hours this time of year. Other than that and it’s “daylight’s a waistin”.Winter months are for resting up. Lol
It was difficult to get much done while the boat was down in Dighton, Mass. 4.5+hr drive each way. Could not spend more than one night down there due to other responsibilities up here. The only major refit done there was the plumbing in of the new black water holding tank. On the water coming here, I replaced the pressurized Jabsco water pump that would not shut off with an internal pressure switch. It works better now, but I still need to check out the accumulator tank. Finding rain water leaks thru hardware and portlights sealant was my main focus then. I keep a dry boat. I don't like unexplained water in compartments or interior. We have a new Raritan PH superflush Toilet arriving today, a new galley faucet, 6 sheaves to replace at the base of the mast and a Windex to mount on the masthead.
We made the decision to add a white horse to the team. I pulled the plugs on the bad motor and looked inside the cylinder with a bore scope. Cylinder walls looked good, crown of the piston has some damage. I could see one valve, but not the other, that was inconclusive. I will tear it down and rebuild it to use as a spare motor.
The list of statements in that post that I don't understand is embarrassing. And I look forward to each mystery disappearing as pictures/posts from you continue to further my much needed sailboat education! Although I'm hesitant to view any pictures of you "mounting the cheek blocks for a lazy jack"...

It’s not that big of a deal.
You and I both - I'm waiting to hear about some timbers that need to be shivered or to see some avasting from a matey. Still won't know what it means, but I've heard aboot such things. Oh, and booty, I know what booty is. Do I win anything for that? Maybe an old slightly damaged pistonmabob thingerator drilled to make a keychain? Slap in the face? Sharp stick in the eye?
After my day today, the dictionary definition of "aboard - a piece of construction lumber" hit me as way funnier than it should have. Those are great.Here, this should explain it all, lol.

No, no alternators to charge batteries. Little 9.9’s. I have 175w in solar that keeps the batteries voltages up. We have shore power and a Honda 2200 to plug into and charge the batteries as needed.
