Delivery of Grimalkin aka FisherCat

Taking advantage of the beautiful weather.

Beautiful day on the Lake. Set a record high temperature. Found some good wind in the outer bay, after the video. They were 12-15 kts from the SW. Top SOG was 6.9 kts. Waves about a foot. Fun day.

Our 2025 boating season is in the log book. We are on the hard at the shipyard. Photo sent today by shipyard employee, to let us know where they put us. Wife did not want to be next to the building like last year because the shingles on the roof are deteriorating and with a south wind, ended up all over the deck of the boat. Especially with the new trampolines on the bow.

There may be a Yamaha 242 under her.

Alas, she looks so sad. I think she would rather be back in the water.

Any off season work planned? Seems like you got a lot done since you took delivery of the boat.

Funny, yes...but nothing much until springtime. Just getting the backbone built for the cover and buttoning it up. Springtime, will bring a lot of sanding and painting on the deck for glossy white and non skid paint that is old and chipping off. A previous owner painted over the nonskid, making it more slippery with certain footwear.
There is a stackpack/lazy jack design on the table in the shop, for the mainsail. Also in the design stage for a new cockpit bimini frame, a couple of inches taller and canvas in captain navy, replacing the worn out cadet gray. Once I source 20'+ sticks of 1" ss tubing with shipping. Yes, I have a tubing bender/crowner to bend 1" ss tubing.

Wife attended this canvas course a couple of years ago. As well as others.

A stack pack and lazy jacks are used to control the mainsail while dropping it. Making my job easier.
